i was not sure where to post this log so i am posting it here.
i am new here, this is my first auto grow log. i am running this log at tsd to try and give a better name to the evil af strains. any info had on this particular strain is much appreciated.......enough bs.......

i am starting them under t5s for a few day after i see them peek at me. then into i liter pots for another week or so under a mh 400 and then a finish under my 1000 hps.

most of my work has been with photos so i love advice. i use my own organic soil mix and i only feed black strap. i like to do one well timed pk boost on my photos but still debating on these af's. i am going to feed these some cal/mag as i have an auto flowering friend who suggested it but he also suggested 1/4 nutes and i use no nutes in a bottle and whats in my soil has been there for like 5 years so it is what it is. if is seems too hot when they are in the one liters i will cool it down with promix in the finishing pot.

well that is my idea for my area.

as for the plants i popped all 10 beans yesterday. i only want to run a 3x3 square and use a purple beauty for breeding. but that will require a 100 percent germ rate. now to the germ process.

i know there are lots of ways to pop a seed but this is my method.I START MY SEEDS A BIT DIFFERENT THEN MOST. I USE NO CUP OF WATER OR PAPER TOWEL OR ......... I SIMPLY TAKE SOME SEED STARTING SOIL MIX , PRE- MOISTEN IT ( RO WATER ), PUT IT IN MY CONTAINERS AND PLANT THE SEED. I THEN PLACE THE SEED UNDER THE T5 AND I MIST THE TOP LAYER WITH ONE SPRAY FROM A WATER (RO WATER) BOTTLE EVERY DAY AS TO NOT LET THE SOIL FORM A CRUST. I DON'T LIKE THE KIDS TO HAVE TO FIGHT FOR LIFE. THAT IS MY SECRETE TO 99% GERM RATES. and i am not yelling at anyone. i brought that from my log at tsd and i copy and pasted it and it was in caps there.

well thats all i have so far, dont worry i wont be copying from my other post because it is caught up now. no more yelling.

here are some pics of the starting line. i will be back i have more. good lu
ck to all the rest of your grows and tune in for the fun. and i love advice so fix any mistake you can and if you can fix them b4 i make them thats even better.

thanks for the support................stay medicated.................cdm

I am up for this one CB. The only thing I can see that I would have changed would be start them in promix until the second set of nodes then into the soil. I have never seen this strain grown so they may be just fine in their. Most Autos definitely don't like to start hot but the genetics I have been running recently will sure enough take to it once they are vegging. I think the more big name strains are getting the genetics really dialed in more like the photos.

Best of luck bro! :pop:

thanks a420er. i dont sprout in my hot mix. i actually use miricle grow seed and cutting mix. really works well. only thing i will ever use by MG but i do and i even admitt it because it just works so well for me. no food in it but some light amendments for seed spouting. then they go in my solo cups usually but i was thinking i might want no restriction on my roots for the af beans, but they are pretty new to me so should i stage the pots for my root ball or let the roots go free with these auto's.? just want to say the people here are a blessing already. more support and help then you get in a wk on other forums i got in the first 10 damn minutes here. thanks a million for loving the mj as purely as i

Good deal man, AFN is on a higher plane than other forums. I have been a member at too many too count but this is where I call home. It is truly a wonderful place. Yes, we still get our crazies from time to time but they are dealt with quickly and most people never even realize they were here.

As for your sprouting, that is great. I germ the same as you except I use peat pots w/ promix, cover them in plastic wrap and put them on top of my T8s. They stay right around 80F. As soon as they pop their head I put them under 2 low watt T8s. As soon as I see the slightest sign of any root at the bottom I put to final pot. You will find that you don't want to transplant more than the first, the life cycle is too quick and they have a tendency to stunt during transplant. I go into 5 gallon smart pots, most all plants will make use of the room even though they may not get big. My theory is the roots have plenty of room to feed the plants. I have yet to have a plant that didn't use every inch of the 5 gallons for roots. Most go with 3 gallon on the larger genes and 1-2 on the smaller.

na, i am with you. i was thinking down those lines. i was wanting freedom for the roots. i like the idea of going into my finishers. hell, if nothing else it is one less transplant, but i feel you about the stunting when transplanted. tell me more on these smart pots i keep hearing about. i knw they are soft and kinda cloth like. right. i bet this is great for air and drying out and root rot, but do the roots get stuck in them and make them useless after 1 run, yhis the only reason i am yet to buy some.

thanks for all the free insights.

my finishers are 5 gal also. i really never finish in smaller even though iknow i can
i have my soil worked to drop the n after 10 wks in 5 gal. it was hard to get there and took me years and i dont change much there very oftenn. i have a 36 plant photo grow of all different strains every run and my mix has had them all in the Goldie locks zone( their sweet spot) so i stand by my mix and like i said, it has been the same mix being reworked for 4-6 years and i love it like one of my children, sorta. but i am scared to change evn the pot size as that would most certainly lower the amount of yummy stuff for my tiny organisms to eat and i feed me soil never my plants. well i am just trying to let everyone know more about what i got in my memory banks so poeple know what level of technique training and advice i am ready for. i want all the help i can get so do not ever think your words are in vein. please dont take this like i am a know-it-all who wants to show off not grow better. i am a growing farmer and i always will be.

this is some of the best vibes i ever got from a forum and i have never seen so much info. and thats great seeing i am an information whore of the worst degree. ..........................................stay medicated..........cdm

Yeah, they are cloth. I have had mine for about two years now. When I finish a grow I just throw them in the clothes washer without any detergent and they are ready to go again. The main thing is, they allow the roots to grow through the sides and bottoms and when they hit air it naturally prunes them and causes new roots to shoot off. The pot gets filled as you can see from my pictures below. I wouldn't use anything but them.

The smart pots are awesome I will never go back to plastic again. You get a much more spread out fibrous root structure. I started with 2 small pots and I now have 6-- 30gallon pots and 22-- 10 gallon pots and 9---5 gallon pots all smart pots. The brand ''Dirt Pots'' are a few dollars cheaper and have better handles that wrap around underneath the pot if they are available to you. a420er is right about the roots air pruning so a good thing to do is have then off the ground a bit. I use wood pallets to set them on indoors and some outdoors or I keep moving them around because the roots wont air prune on the bottom if there are sitting flat on a surface.. When I first started my outdoors giants in 30 gallon pots I didn't move them and when I decided to bring them onto the lawn I couldn't move them. I had to pry under one side and chop the roots that had grown through the bottom and into the ground., Just a heads up though you wont have to worry about that where your not outside but I would still recommend keeping them elevated off the floor. my buddy uses wire rack plant stands for his and they work well I just don't have the head space to life them over a foot of the ground
Here is some results from my 30 gal smart pots....You can see the roots poking through the pot then the tips die off and the root spread out in different directions instead of wrapping around a plastic pot and getting root bound. Basically a 10 gallon smart pot equals a 15-20 gallon plastic pot when it comes to root spacesmoke.jpgGEDC0846.jpg

you all will see real fast that my only point of pride is in my open mind. i promise you that the spyders will be in those.

damn you have had how many runs with those pots? and i love the idea of throwing them in the washer. that is a good enough reason in itself, but i am all about the rhizosphere. there is nothing i wont try as soon as you start into better root structure, and use logic to support your opinions of course. thanks guys. this is too awsome. i generally get nice plants as is, but i cant imagine how much improvement is actually possible when you start combing everyone's good , logical , working, and cost effective ideas.

happy happy happy:Cool:

UPDATE :vibe:

no action coming out of the ground yet, but none expected. i will let every one know when they are born and if they are healthy and all. (ten fingers and ten toes and such)

till next time.........STAY MEDICATED................. CDM

Think Different is the whole idea . and damnt hose are some nice full girls. i see it all my outsiders are in 5 gallon buckets and literally half of that plant. 300 of them but i would only need 100 of those. i think you guys are on to something with those pots. of i am a bit behind but here i come. thanks again for caring
