Hi all,

I'm putting together a PC case grow box (link in sig if you're interested), doing my first practice grow or two with just 6 12" Samsung Q series strips 4*4000K and 2*3000K but I'll be upgrading some time soon to either a 14 strip setup or a 20 strip setup using side lighting.

For my build specifically, I'm leaning towards 8*4000K strips at the top, as these will be the first lights on from the seedling stage, and the rest 3000K on the sides as I'll introduce them a bit later in the plant's life cycle.

I haven't seen many builds on here with hard strips and not much chat about which spectrums work out the best so I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts?

A mix of 4k and 3k sound good, I run 3500k. Might need a bit of Infra red.

Sent from my comfy chair.

Yeah it's the right ball park isn't it? There's probably no hard and fast right answer to what mix works best - I'm tempted to throw some 3500s in as well just for variety but it's the balance of how many watts per type that's the real guessing game. As far as the red end of the spectrum, I could mybe do something with it - perhaps just two strips that incorporate some reds or something, but then again that's probably a third driver I'll need space for. Hmm...
