Will i notice any difference between the two? will roots in a circular pot be able to grow larger than in a square pot based on shape or anything?

just curious :D

People like square pots because they tessellate. Aside from baby plants though, it is the width of the canopy that determines how close together you can put the pots so it doesn't make a whole lot of difference.

Same here square pot's work better in a square room........? I know there's a joke in there somwhere. :smokebuds:

Well for my grow tent whether its a square or circle pot i can fit about six 3 gallons. i have square pots but werent sure if i should go for circular instead :smokebuds:

Tall pots are better than wide pots. Cannabis likes to put down deep roots rather than wide ones. Most of the pots are too cubic for my liking.

i can fit about six 3 gallons.

The most efficient packing for circles in a square tent. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circle_packing_in_a_square

I use square pots for veg and round ones for flower. I can fit more square ones under my veg light than round ones. I tried square pots for flowering but my spaces are small and I found I can better position the plants so that nothing is shaded with round pots. Square ones only give you 4 options.

Square pots are actually better for the roots. With a round one, especially one that is smooth sided, the roots will swirl around the inside of the pot. With a square one the roots get redirected when they hit the corners. Makes for a better root system. The round ones I use in flower have indentations that help redirect the roots and prevent swirling.

Thanks muddy, that's my concern mostly the roots, not really space. You think ill be good going with 3 gallon square pots the whole way? :bong:

They should love them. I'm sure they will be fine.
