hey,

i searched via internet for a very strong cfl ad i saw, that there is a 300 watt version already.

does anyb0dy know something about higher levels? maybe 350 watt?

greets :)

Why would you go for a CFL that strong? What kind of space are you working with? You don't get the best watt efficiency with CFLs in the higher range.. the light distribution is pretty sketchy regardless of reflector.

I 2nd wg, I use cfls myself and honestly you get more lumens per watt with the smaller cfls you can find at any regular store. Just check out the spectrum of the bulbs, 2700k for flower and 6500k for veg, I myself mix both spectrums throughout my grows and find it does the job very well.

hey,

wow this 400 watt bulb is a monster!!!

i am looking for a strong cfl, cause i am sure, that my grow-space in my growbox is 55x75x165cm and this is 0,41m2 in 0,7m3, is too small for a hps. further, my air control system is being bought to fit exactly to the cfl lamp ( 220m3/h with 240m3/h "aktivkohlefilter" in english i'm not sure, it is "active carbon filter?!)

my real useable space for the plants is very small, when i substract the space, that the lamp and the pots take, i have only 55x75x100cm room left. so a hps would be too hot and there's no space left for a cooltube either...

for the seedlings and the vegetation phase, i have got a 200 watt dual spectrum cfl and the young plants are doing great (day 9 after seeding, day 6 after breaking through into daylight. no extreme growing in the height.

when they start blooming the next month, i will buy a lamp with only the flower spectrum (2700k) for this phase.
i'm not sure, if my plan buying a 300 watt lamp with 23400 lumen is a good plan?

what size/strength of cfl should i buy? could you please give my some advice, some tips? please don't tell me, that i should install a 250 hps. i really want to stay a "cfl grower":)

my budget is limited up to 100€. the 300 watt would cost ~ 60€.

now i try to find out (with your help), which cfl i should buy, then. what would you say - is a 300 watt cfl big enough for this space i have? or even TOO big?
what would you say would be the 300 watt, 23400 lumen lamp comparable to an hps? how strong would be the equivalent hps compared to the 300 watt cfl?

.@wg: did i get you right? you said, that for example 2 cfl with 150 watt each are better than one with 300 watt?

I would say get a 300w 2700k cfl and 125w 6500k or even two 65w-ers. that would be about in your price range and i think it will get the job done. how many plants do you plan on growing? that could come into play one how you want to setup your lights, which will decide which ones you buy
.

I would go for hps for that price. You could buy one for cheaper then that and spend what you saved on ventilation for the heat.

I started off using only CFLs i had 1x 150w Dual Spectrum and 1x 300w dual spec with a dimond reflector and i grew 3-4 plants a time but yeild was under 1oz each. That was in a 90x90x170 grow tent. If you want to stay CFL then the smaller CFLs are better for coverage and output good luck and browse the CFL section some great tips in the section and info on differant brands etc :peace:
