Mephisto Genetics Testing for Mephisto

I'm no expert when it comes to RO water, but this is a thought I had.
Your tap water is around 7.7 PH and The RO water is 4.6 PH is it possible to mix tap water and RO water to get a PH close to where you want it?
Would this work or is there something I am missing?

I agree, Arty....

I did this on my first grow but for different reasons...because RO was so hard to buffer. I DO think the key is to
identify how "urban" your tap water is...if it's heavily treated Chlorine, chloride, fluorine, etc. then it may not be
worth the risk. I guess my first question would be...why is the RO water in this instance so acidic? That seems
counter intuitive.

My RO water was 4.6 because of WAY too much PH Down. All RO water should test neutral, PH 7.0

Trapper, my water is well water. But its a shared well supplying 5 rental units and the law here mandates the water be chlorinated. I asked and they use chlorine, not chlormine. The water report from the test in April showed no signs of toxic levels of anything, nor any harmful bacteria. Thats why this has puzzled me. I Will have it tested at a lab of my choosing soon, but I need $140 to pay for it and just don't have it. but in the meantime, I have a whole house filter now ( I've always filtered my drinking water do to my aversion to chlorine ). I suspect too much iron, but won't know for another month.

Update:

Res Temp: 67, Room temph 74. PH 6.4 pppms: 700.

Plants are doing great since the switch to RO water. For Cal Mag I'm using Grow More Maxi-Cal @ 30 Ml to the 13 gallons of water the res holds. I'll wait before I up that, if no deficiency I'll keep it there. I'm trying to ease the PH down a little each day. Will see if I can take it to 6.1 tomorrow, if so I’ll leave it there until res change next week. I've taken out the one damaged Chemdogging. The seed has sprouted and I'm waiting for it to get a 1" or longer tap root, then it will spend3-7 days in the clonebox, until its big enough to transfer to the 5" net pot in the res. I shoot for about 11/2" of stem and 2-4" of root, so that the leaves will be near the rim of the net pot, and a little root passes out the bottom of the net pot. The Mephisto Chemdogging are the 4 to the right.

Any thoughts on raising the RH?

I used baking soda, works very well! Another case of add a little and test. I did find that the PH crept up over then next 30 minutes, much more so that PH down does. If this also buffers it a bit, then I'll use it instead of ph up when I need to. I use General Hydroponics ph up that come dry in a bag. Cheap and effective. I mix three scoops to 8 oz of water and keep it in a bottle labeled ph up as I find it easier to use in liquid form.

Going to step up the game! New res built. I'll start 4 Auto Cush in paper towel shortly. Got the RO unit running and have also bottled 8 gallons of RO water. When the Chemdogging are done, I'll start the Auto Cush x Chemdogging.

Now soaking in a paper towel are 2 Auto Cush, which will share the res with some other test plants: Dragon's Blood From Stone ( my last two, the others were all killed by my crappy water ), and 2 of my Durrty VanStitch. Making RO water for a rfers change tomorrow.
