Hello Fellow AFM Forumites!
I hope this is the appropriate place to post this. I am going to The Dam this summer for about 5 days and would like to get some recommendations for Coffee Shops to visit, I know I can read reviews online all day but I would like to hear from some of you with recent first hand knowledge about these places. Also any other cool places that you visited whilst there. Thanks in advance for your time and suggestions!

Hey bro, mega jealous i had a great time while out in The Dam the other year. I came across Voyagers Coffeeshop / Hotel on recommendation from @Hazy on here and they had some real fire bud on offer and with the added bonus of the bud tender was English, their Platinum Cookies was my fav followed very close by the Kaligria, the Chocolope way very nice too and the Fromage Blue pre rolls were great for a night cap and knocked me out after a day binging on Sati dom strains, their Amnesia was pretty potent too for the cheapest strain they had on offer but way to racy for me and ended up having a anxiety attack after a 1g joint.

Easy Times was also another really nice place with a chilled out reggae vibe, wish i went back there but only made one stop and had some really nice NYC Strawberry Kush, they had a huge menu and could have spent a week in there if not for the fire i was getting in Voyagers. Had a couple of the muffins in Easy Times also but found them a bit on the soft side for my liking.

Should check out Coffee Shop Menus if you have not already, will give you a good idea of what on offer before you get out there ;)

@Spanglish thanks for the tip bud, much appreciated. I have looked at the Coffee Shop Menus but that is a bit overwhelming, or it was on my last trip over. We are staying in the Jordaan district, very near Grey Area and Amnesia, I don't like the real crowded places and don't care for the "racy" strains at all. I had all but given up on a good bud until I found AFN and started growing my own! Now I'm on a quest to find that narcotic feel that doesn't put me right to sleep. I have become a big fan of edibles and will search those out as well but I heard mixed reviews about edibles in The Dam. I'm really looking forward to our visit, we will leave Amsterdam and spend a week in France (Provence) let the good times roll!

Check out the kosher kush (I also found the SLH icehash, also a decent smoke, better as a 'livener' than a dreamer though...!) at Easy Times, if you like something narcotic. That was a while ago though (and I thought the governor was an arse to his staff too!). The Rookery was friendly and served up clean gear too (if memory serves me right!;) just off the Leidersplein.) :pass:

Yeah the amount of strains on offer can be a bit mind blowing but most places have pretty good descriptions of Indica / Sativa %s and the type of buzz to expect. I am very much the same with crowds and racy strains, but though the Amnesia would be a nice change to the norm that i grow, lesson learnt there lol. The Platinum Cookies and the NYC Strawberry Kush would be just the type of high you described. Only tried the muffins from Easy Times when it came to edibles and as mentioned before did not impress me much, sure there must be some good ones out there but a case of knowing where to find them.

Here's a few pics i dug up off my PC from my trip, if i remember correct the first few with the grinder was some Silver Bubble and then a couple of the Kaligria, and then a couple of coffeeshops.

Wish you the best of times in The Dam and Southern France ;)

Boerenjongens coffeeshop in Vondelbuurt, one of the best coffeeshops in A'dam, hands down. Friendly people, great strains. Original Dampkring, in the Rembrandtplein, my favourite coffeshop, I more or less lived in here for the best part of 5 years. Grey Area gets a pick, but it's pricey, and they turn up when they want. 1e Hulp, also a nice place. De Pijp, and De Tweede Kamer, worth a look
If you've got balls of steel, try this, a swing from the top of a hotel, not for the faint hearted

If you have time, you should jump on a train, half an hour to Den Haag, and visit coffeeshop Cremers. The best coffeeshop in NL. You can buy in the coffeeshop, then go next door, and have a cold beer and a smoke.
