Freiya, this is a simple salient fact: regular Mods have no power to ban anybody, period,... This action is reviewed by Supers and Admin., discussed, and most important, a given members history, good and/or bad, is taken into full account,... It may sound and feel satisfying to flame and blame the Mods, but the reality is such actions are outside the scope of our 'powers" and duties,... believe me, there is plenty of differing opinion amongst the entire staff, there no sycophants or posers,... the person in question here has been on the radar several times before, and much has been let slide,... ( only really grievous violations of the terms, which every member agrees to as actual members, will get somebody bounced immediately).... but after a certain point there is no more slack, rightfully so,...*** vendors get no special treatment either... if you knew the fine folks in Admin., especially Aunty Mossy, for whom this site was made, you'd trust in their integrity... stuff like all-- this-- pains her, literally,... I'm no chest beater myself either... look me up-- you'll find no war drums beating in my camp! I only comment when things become utterly distorted .. :no: comments like this are exactly what I mean... opine all you want, that's fine, but do not accuse blindly, making sweeping negative generalizations about all of us,.. and bring pain to our founder,....

I apologize if my post came off that way. I also wasn't trying to make sweeping generalizations about you. I was just asking a question and making a point. Tangs attitude toward anyone who doesn't scream from the roof top about GN just came off a bit weird. I understand a lot of what you are saying about past stuff being factored in and what not but the fact remains. Even if he was questionable in the past he still didn't do anything wrong in that thread to push him over the line so to speak.


I don't have a life, I sit here and read this forum all day. I go back page after page after page reading journals from 3 years ago just because I love to read about the stuff. I end up reading a lot of posts from a lot of different people. I never thought gloom came off that way but everyone entitled to their opinion as this is a forum where opinions get posted. At the end of the day thats all I'm arguing about. People should be able to post their opinion without fear of getting banned. Obviously if you flame others and break the rules then thats different but no such thing was done in glooms case. ^_^

Sounds like you're trying to make me out as a troublemaker... The only other time I've had words with mods is when my TopLED review thread was removed.... So I support my purchase of TopLED...And question the expense of an upcoming GN unit... Oooooh....Its all becoming clearer now.

While I can see my posts are trying to be cast in a bad light, and failing that my history of posting is trying to be cast in a bad light...I truly was a valuable contributing member of this forum.

Any advice on what to mix with OF to take away some of the hotness of the soil? Would perlite do? and if so whats a good ratio.

...apology accepted, thanks! .... that is because much of the inflammatory commentary gets removed, or the entire thread deleted,...trolls are infamous for digging up old, dead shit and waving it around in faces, fuel for the hating... retroactive analysis of situations like this by reading old postings are not going to give a clear picture,... Tang is no sycophant,... he speaks from experience, and if you've seen his work, you'd know why he speaks with some authority on GN stuff,....if he came off "weird", well, that's for him to explain, not I....

gloom, you wonder why you appear on the radar, when you post dramatic hyperbole like the title of this thread?! it literally undermines your credibility,... I'm a sun grower, and have no dog in the LED fight here,... I make nothing out of you gloom', and none of the Mod's go looking for people to hack on... that would get them booted, and it has happened, believe me!...you, have to do something to gather the attention of multiple Mods, over time, and you have, sorry to say,....Any other forum would have bounced you long ago, as rudely as possible, any one can tell you... like Sniper said, if you feel so oppressed and slighted, none of us are going to be able to talk you out of that tree, so the door awaits you,....

I got banned and posted some dramatic hyperbole. Sorry I didn't just bend over from the moment i was banned I realised AFN was not the place for me.

I am a member of mutiple other forums, im even a mod myself on one, and a donator who keeps the forum running... No other forum would have 'bounced me long ago' as you put it because I am a helpful contributor on those forums, as i was on this one.
