After much consideration, we've decided to make a change to the Outlier Z Grow Off competition.
We want everyone to get involved so, we've expanded the criteria to include the last three NightOwl drops (Halloween 2021, Calendar 2022, and Valentines/SuperbOwl 2022). That includes "In Testing" and "Testers".
The competition will run from now till August 31st, 2022. Even If you've already started germination it doesn't matter. As long as you're growing Night Owl from the listed recent drops, that's all that we care about.

With Instagram the rules are still being prepared. There's limited tools, and private profiles so there probably will be a change specifically for Instagram, please be patient.
There will be a winner from each platform for every category. All 10 categories will have three winners from each platform (AFN, Reddit, and Instagram) for a total of 30 prizes.
All winners will eligible for the Grand Prize, a Grower's Choice ROI-720, and the winner will be selected by Daz.

Best Full Plant Photo - A full plant image displaying the plant and pot, either from the bottom of the pot or top of the soil to show the entire plant. Enter your submissions in the "The First Great Owl Off: Full Plant Photo" thread. The most positive reactions on a submission wins (like, love or wow). Full Plant Photo examples: 1 , 2
Best Bud Photo - A photo showing a live bud on a plant, this image can be a whole cola or individual nugget. Enter your submissions in the "The First Great Owl Off: Bud Photo" thread. The most positive reactions on a submission wins (like, love or wow). Bud photo example: 1, 2
Best Macro Photo - An up-close/macro image of a bud with trichomes in focus, not whole bud. Enter your submissions in the "The First Great Owl Off: Macro Photo" thread. The most positive reactions on a submission wins (like, love or wow). For examples check the "macro photo" tags as most of them count
Best Grow thread & Smoke review- It's not just about the best photos, write something about your grow! Draft and share your thread/ review with community on platform of your choice. It's optional for users to write a Rosin report, as everyone may not have a Rosin press. You could even write an edible report with recipe, it's totally up to you. If you'd like a template (Grow, Rosin or Smoke report) check the Subreddit's Wiki. To enter just make your own journal thread, or review thread.

- Users can only win one of the photo categories (Bud, Full plant, or Macro) and one of the reports (Grow, or Smoke) on each platform. Users are free to cross post across the other platforms, and win again as long as it's not a copy of the photo or report that previously won on another platform. *May change this rule*
- Mod / Staff decisions are final, dubious entries will not count. If you chose not to play fair you're also under the scrutiny of the community, they're the critics that give you the reactions and votes, be friendly.
- No limit on entries. That doesn't mean post everything with the flair, put some thought into the picture or reports you're making. If there's users are abusing or taking advantage of it, I will step in and start to limit entries.
- Just use common sense if you think you're doing something wrong, you just might be.
