    How Vapo pots up.
  • Hello AFN.....This is an explanation of how I have potted up the CN, it is really simple and easy to do, so I just put it in the following steps for you...Enjoy!

    1) Mix perlite and coco.
    2) Fill root pouches.
    3) Rinse with shower.
    4) Dig small hole for seedling and plug( I usually dust with myco, but ran out!)
    5) Bury and cover plug.
    6) water well with ph6, full strength calmag water

This is what I do and the steps I follow, works for me dudes......Hope it works for you too, these CN were potted 2 days ago.....

    How Vapo tops them.
  • Hello AFN...:toke:....as the threadmark says, this is how I top my girls......

1)....so here we have the plant, as you can see the coco is dry, so I can give her a big drink afterwards.....you can see the fourth node is coming out and the stem is about 10mm proud of the third node.
    IMG_20201012_122432.jpg

2)....First I take off the single finger leaves and the little stems.
    IMG_20201012_122528.jpg

3)....then it's the next node up(2ND)and the 3 finger leaves....
    IMG_20201012_122557.jpg

4).....and lastly it's the head or top node....Leaving the 3rd node intact...
    IMG_20201012_122616.jpg

....and that's it really, short, sharp and fast!!....now it's just a normal feed and back in the tent....Job done!
Hope you enjoyed this little tutorial.....More to come...:pass:

    First ties.
  • Hello AFN....:shooty:......First ties in for these CN....not really alot to write....My hooks are just normal 3mm rubber garden wire...about 4" long.....I gently bend the stems first, over into the position where I want them to be....Then put the hooks in at an angle, pointing away from the main stem, this is to try and stop the stems slipping out of the hooks, I don't like using hooks much, because sometimes when I am pushing them in the medium, I feel like they are snapping roots....AND they can slip to the middle, which means they are doing nothing.....This can cause a problem in the way that if a hook slips....say, an hour after you put them on and you don't check it until the next day....The un-hooked stems will continue upwards and can become MUCH stronger in that time, making them short but stiff, which is a problem when bending them like we do....and attempts to bend back into position can snap/split the main stem....if this has happened 2moz, I will take some pics to illustrate!

Edit:....I know the medium looks quite dry atm, but I will not be feeding them until tomorrow, I gauge the need to feed by the weight of the pot, which is the best way imo....

    First Hook Hiccup.
  • Hola AFN....:toke:...so, if you read my first hook post......what I said about the hooks falling inwards has happened to the CN, one I expected it to happen coz the stems were short and we're just guiding them, really!....the other looks like she is trying to wriggle out of them, even after I placed a staybar there last night...:d5:....Good going girl haha....this one is a grower....
In the pics below, I have tried to show how the hooks have moved and the staybar type I made, which is oversize so I can make it bigger as the plant grows........and a couple of pics of the Dinafem Bubba Kush Auto too....:woohoo:

The first inside leaf, and Snap!!
  • Hello AFN...:toke:...as the threadmark says.....I took the first inside leaves off the CN today, while resetting the hooks....and I fookin snapped one too...:fire:...with snaps, I tape them up.....Instantly, then prey......I have tried to show the inside leaf removal in the two pics with the snap.....the removal of these two leaves is, I feel, imperative to my six point technique....as it opens the new nodes up to the light, so they can grow fast and become big enough to not only tie down, but grow sizeable colas themselves....if you don't take them off....These leaves will shade the two new nodes, and not allow them to grow as well.

    Vapos Vent nets.
  • Hello everyone, I just made some nets for my vents to stop any insects getting in, as I use a passive intake.....Really easy to do, so I thought I would write it up:cooldance:

Step 1)....I cut the middle from a 1 litre and a 3 litre Vimto bottle, I just cut round the top and btm ridge with a SHARP Stanley knife.
Step 2)....I trimmed the plastic so it was even-ish....top and btm....Then wrapped electrical tape around the top and btm, leaving half the width standing proud...which I then slit here and there then folded over....one end red, one end yellow(no reason!)..
Step 3)....I stretched some 50 denier tights over the red tape end, and placed an rubber band around tightly.
Step 4)....cut the tights around the bottle piece and Voila...I also folded the ragged end up and put another rubber band underneath....then folded it back down, so the tights pinched a bit on the rubber band to help stop it slipping...
.....and there you have it.....I didn't take construction pics bcoz I forgot ....but here are some finished pics...again sorry about the lines, I think it's the ballast
