So I joined this community very recently and this is my first solo and auto indoor grow. For the last month I've been leaching info from everyone here, purchasing the necessary items and banging my head against a wall, whilst I attempt to overcome all the problems that have reered their heads, or that I have created through naivty, inexperience and not reading the instruction manual first!
The run down:
3 DP AWW (right in the pic)
3 dinafem sour diesel auto (left)
secret jardin ds120
3 GN ms0006's
4"inch tt vents inline fan with acoustic ducting
rhino hobby filter on intake and exhaust (very much a stealth setup)
2 tube heaters
And Monsieur Tangs pot, nute, soil combo:
Airpots, plagron light mix and Tangs AN schedule. (Thanks again for that)
I soaked the nibblets for 12 hours, paper towel method, (popped within 24 hours) then into root riot cubes and straight into 15l airpots.
I had to go to great lengths to reduce the noise from the ventilation during the setup. Ended up using plenty of acoustic ducting and the fan in a box full of foam trick i read about (thanks again), which worked a treat, only noise is the exhaust, air movement and light cooling fans.
When I was doing my testing the ambient temp was around 19C, Having calibrated my thermostatic plug for the heaters and accounting for the light temp I thought I was ready to go, temp sitting nicely at 25C, so I chucked the beans in to soak. Since then we've had a bit of a heat wave which completely screwed everything up and has left me with a bit of a dilemma. Should be fine but F***ing annoying. Basically now that I'm up and running the temp is hitting a steady 28C in the day with only one ms0006 running, which means I can't chuck another one in there until either I get AC or it gets colder, fast! When I measures the ambient temp today it was 24 C (when the setup is running steady state), which means the light is giving me an increase of 4C from 75cm away, which is more than I expected, having heard that LEDs hardly give out any heat. I suppose its not much bearing in mind my exhaust fan is tiny, but its something I'll have to figure out.
The next f***ing bitch slap I got was from my local water supply, so glad I got a decent ph meter!
So I tested the ph before I got going and it read 7.8ish, which I expected as I live in a very hard water area. Next day I come back and it's 8.7! WTF how much chlorine are they feeding me! Anyway luckily after putting the water through a filter it settled at 7.6 after being ph'ed, so that'll do albeit an extra expense in filters. Dunno what I'll do when it comes to flushing though.
.
So here we go, please feel free to chime in, any help would be great, as I only really know what I'm doing in theory and still only loosely... Time to get some practice.
