@hairyman ... This is where I'm going to be doing my further Terp study....it is the Most Comprehensive I have found and I've searched Hard........


I have hinted in the staff room to see if we can get some sort of site to site collaboration with them...but no takers yet...

Now the Love and Awe bit... ... Every seed holds a Dream...

Cup a seed in your hands..image it is Dragon sized...and Think...

Every seed holds the cross you have on the Face of it...and her complete genetic history...... parents..grand parents..great grand parents..they are all inside that tiny little seed...

And... everything inside of that genetic pool is available to me as a breeder...if I know Who I'm looking for.

@Entombed ...my large pots would not really fit in a tent....but I do the same with 20 ltr/5 gallon pots....20 LTRs...20 seeds..to hopefully mature 10 females... ..


BTW..quick count up...saying 30 per large pot...10 per 5 gallon pot...says probably 140 females there...and I'll have seen and killed the same amount of males.

And Ive got 4 grows a year...so easy to see how I can multiply my test grows/pheno hunts by using multiple pots.... ...

Original JEM contained a Black leafed pheno.
Infrequent.
Coal black.
JEM had distinct yellow leaves when she went over..
The Black started from the centre of the leaf..out.
Sometimes leaving a yellow rim around it.
The black yellow mix on the leaf gave a metallic copper sheen.

At ALF #3 Deep Chunk photoperiod was added...Deep Chunk up to then ..all the photos I saw..and the pollen donation were White.

Something in this cross magnified the Black leaf trait out.....(I'll come back to that point later.)..and I was as Surprised as anyone else to see my first Black Auto.

One of the other breeder over at ICmag at the time...was gifted the same DC genetics...and he got the blackest photoperiod I'd seen...so..hedging a guess it was the DC prompting it......


The first Clue I got was...I thought the middle of my leaf was showing a deficiency..it was looking light green in the middles..but it was the black colour...coming in from the tips of the leaves... moving towards the centre.

The ALF#4 Black Dragon black is what I call botanical black..think roses..tulips..the deepest purple is classed as black.

So definition of the black leafed trait up to ALF4 is very easy to define.

Coal black leaf from the middle out..under cover metallic copper. JEM dominant.

Deep purple black..moving in from the outside of the leaf in..Black Dragon dominant.

Simple ...huh...?..

Right..the Black Leaf trait is a Kush dominant FAULT.

Kush dominants have a hair trigger for a phos deficiency...as soon as their soil pH drops by 0.5 to 1 ph they starts blacking up.

My winter temps drops the pH in my pots...and that is why they all flush up leaf colour in my winter season...
(Bud colour is not cold dependent)

So...what do you notice here...?..

The all blacks tend to be Smaller....first...they came from Original JEM ..a 14 inch 8 week finish original Auto...plus...she is growing phos deficient...sooooo... small..but Stunning......less depth of leaf colour coverage...less deficient..taller...

Throwing the Kush in didn't flush the Dragon bud and leaf colour.....yet...it magnified the bloody NL Pinks.. ..the one direction I didn't want to go...but I was literally 50-50% pinks and whites...for the first few generational rolls..

Nothing I particularly wanted hybridised out..mass germ.. genetic Shuffle..see what comes out.....then.. around F4.. little clues..

I started to see a small fast pheno that went over a couple of weeks before the full pot... again..with the multi pots. things like that stand out more.. comparison to the rest of them..

IMO..JEM..or one of the other Original Autos by size and finish time..so I was expecting her rising.......

Then around F5-F6...winter grow...there we go...colours rising....

My outdoor winter grows are invaluable for the colours......cold indoor grow room and dropping the water PH down 0.5 should induce it under lights....

The simple cross..the one on the right is the mother...and she has an unusual body arrangement...bottom half body..top half all neck... .. guessing that's why she got the DD name..

I've put nowt in mine with that body balance...so all I've got to watch the new germs for..is elongated necks......and I'll know I have her..

(I'll have also added 40 plus generations of outdoor growing hardiness in there..using my males....)

No plans for her..if I don't Get Sati effects...how on earth would I know if I made a good one..or a bad one..?....

I had some photoperiods on the patio a few year ago ...to double check I had the essence..but I Think it was a EU bank..I'll check.

The Originals were known for having the Lime ...I was working in an amazing lemon line..from light expensive aftershave ..to sherbet up your nose sneeze powder.. looking at the heritage I was thinking..mep....other people description of smells....but...it was absolutely distinctly Lime.

Had it once... never got it back..but with the re-emergence of the dragons......you never know.....it is a trait I would hook up..
