Time to get Mushing.....

Alright guys. I can't sit on my hands long so it's time to start growing something and this time its mushrooms. Will post up video of the setup once i get my parts in from the net. So far I have everything but a hepa filter to start building a laminar flow-hood but i will be using injection port lids so the chances for contamination are minimal with a normal glove-box. will be using a coir cake recipe that i will also post up with instructions on how to grow mushrooms for the community to enjoy as a whole as well. Feel free to chime in if you feel like having fun. Please sub and rate this thread as I will be updating with videos just like i did with my hydro setup.

yah bro im just planning out the harvest stage now. looking into putting into pill form. with size 00 empty gel caps i can load aprox .5g each so it will be really easy to dose and record the harvest numbers.

Are you intending to fruit the cakes or bulk spawn?

lol i intend on making liquid cultures from the syringes i have then inoculating wild bird seed and transferring it in with coco coir as a bulk substrate. thinking about doing 1qt of coffee on one set sometime to test that theory out. i will be transferring into plastic shoe Tupperware and then into another tote that is a 90 qt tote with 4 slabs per tote. i will try the first run with 2 fruiting chambers available. if it works out well then i might just go ahead and run like 4-6 fruiting chambers in my tents with a timer on my hps to come on and regulate the temp in there. my understanding is that with a decent setup like this each batch could yield me in the 8-10oz range after 3-4 flushes. if i run 2-3 in a run for like 2 months i could powder up like 9-10 lbs into capsules to freeze. they keep for as long as the caps last so its a while. thinking about ordering special colors for fun. they have white/purple ones that would be cool.

Sounds good.... lol, when you mentioned coir cakes I dont know why but all I had in my head, was a coir version of the old PF tek, I was kind of freaking out, lol, I dont know where my head was at...

Im a popcorn/horse poop man myself... I wont drill you with questions now, i think I will join the rest of the punters in the bleachers and wrap my head around your tek as your thread unfolds.

lol im stealing all the tek's but will document them all well here with my own words and videos. i figured this combo will be the best way to start up a bulk grow relatively easy and get decent yields with little effort and a shallow learning curve without a flow hood. if these do well i will also build a nice flow hood. but yah it goes LC-liquid culture (karo syrup in water pressure cooked)--->wild bird seed(pressure cooked)--->tubs of coco coir with vermiculite(pasteurized) and fruit them in large clear chambers. for filters i will use ez felt for both the jar filters and the filters on the fruiting chambers to promote sterile air exchange. since im working with needles the entire time, the ability to contaminate are reduced quite a bit. i will use self healing injection ports on all jars so that i never have to open even grain spawns for inoculation i will strictly work with lc and needles that i will sterilize as well. overall i think it will work but only time will tell.

So all in all it is very similar to they way I do it, still going to hang around to watch it in practice.

Said I wouldnt ask a question, seems I lied.... What is your reasoning behind coir over a more nutrient rich bulk sub like horse poo?

it is cheap and plentiful and hpoo is a pain to get a hold of right now. i will source some but right now this tek is really solid. just making my list of supplies i missed. im hoping that this works out well and i can spawn many lbs of mushrooms while i wait on mother plants to grow out.

Fair enough.... though like a plant, the better you feed em the better the boomers. A few LB shouldnt be a drama though you will want to have alot of jars on hand, and getting the flow hood together for g2g innoculation would speed things up for you.
