Tips to get rid of earwigs?

I noticed the other day my auto AK had something eating holes in the leaves and I just went out tonight to check on it and there were earwigs eating my leaves. Any advice on getting rid of them is appreciated. Thanks

You can buy an organic pesticide and spray the plant,make sure to get spray under leaves also.This worked for me,good luck.

Ok but will they get in the soil as well? I haven't seen any in the soil but was curious if they could be hiding in there during the day. And if so could they damage roots?

diatomaceous earth creates a physical barrier.. crushed coral. cuts em up.

most bugs avoid peppermint oil. i put some in a little dish and leave it in the corner.
