For $203 you can get two 300 watt mars-hydros, Which gives you around 300 to 360 actual watts. Bang for your buck/watt they are great. I would like for someone to explain the spectrum of these lights to me compared to others. I am thinking about buying 2 more.

I've been getting up to 2 oz per plant. But I am limiting the size of my plants by restricting the res size. I've grown up to 6 plants at once with the MarsII 700W (300W draw.)

Ive heard the mars 2 700 is capable of producing a pound! Whats your thoughts?

Mauricem00 How easy would it be to replace the fans in the Mars light? I have one that I'd love to pop a couple of quiet new fans into. Is it just a two pin plug into a circuit board? Thanks!

it looks like it would be very easy to replace the fans on the mars hydro the ones that come with it are a little noisy.they use a separate power supply for the fans and automotive style connectors but you could cut the wires and use crimp connectors.if you don't already have fans or a good source for them you may want to check out this site http://www.allelectronics.com/index.php?page=seek&id[m]=pattern&id[q]=Cooling+Fans I have found the mars hydro easy to work on but they do use cheap components.

the mars hydro is close to a true full spectrum light. they contain 430,470 and 7000k white diodes giving full coverage of the blue spectrum for vegging as well as 72 630,660nm diodes to give red needed for flowering,they are not the most effiecient diodes available but are good at the current price point my first grow produced 2 ounces but the plants were serverly damaged by spider mites during the grow so the yield was a little lower than it should of been with 2 plants grown in soil

FYI, I emailed Mar-hydro about whether it is necessary to add a UVB light to my grow room. First, as usual they have been very prompt in responding. Their answer was yes some UVB should be added. I already run some cfl's about 6-8 hours a day with my LEDs. Is this sufficient or do I need to purchase a reptile light?

It's going to be tough in my set up but I think the light's capable of it.

I've seen some small UV lights for sale for curing nail polish. I don't know if it's enough light but they are small and inexpensive.

Hi guys

I am looking at getting the 900w mars led light , is it worth paying the extra 90$ for the flower spectrum ? On a different note does anyone know what brand led's KINDLED grow lights use in their lights , CREE , Bridgelux or epistar ?

The Full spectrum has always done good for me. I don't know what the difference is though. About kind LED you should check out the Vipar thread I believe they are the same light just re-branded.
