ive seen some people grow photos up trees on another forum looks like a lot of work but pretty stealthy. some people were saying you might be able to bore a hole in a tree and then plant there in some soil and the plants roots would grow under the bark and get moisture from the tree. never saw results on that but it would be pretty cool if it worked, i was tempted to try something similar though im in a city so not right now.
retaining moisture wise maybe you could use those moisture crystals, usually advised against casue they hold so much. if youre aiming for waterlogged compared to a regular grow then no perlite vermiculite coco or fillers like that just as much soil as you can get up there.
