Harvest & Curing Trim after harvest but b4 curing?

For me, I'll pull the fan leaves, chop the plant at the base and rough trim the tips of the sugar leaves. I'll hang the plant for a few days, break down the buds from the branches and place them in paper bags. Once out of the paper bags I'll do a close final trim and in the jar they go. Everybody has their own personal preference and there is more than one way.

There are many ways. Everyone has a different opinion. Do a search or seek out posts on this subject and see which you like. I always think this is the most stressful part of the grow. But, read up, and do what you are comfortable with and all will be good. Promise.............eP.

Ive seen the paper bag method on here. What is the point of that? Then going to the jar? Im going withur advice right now on the harvesting you gave me b4 :)

Some claim they retain the smell of the buds with the paper bag, some like strictly hanging and others use racks. I use the bags because my humidity is super low in my area and I feel it gives a nice even slow dry as long as you burp the bags occasionally and turn the buds. I don't stack buds on top of each other in the bags either, just line the bottom. Right now, I can place my buds in the bag, roll it up and come back to about 55% rh and I'm good with that. I hang dry for about 2-3 days then get about 2-3 days in the bag. I just experiment with different methods that give me the results I'm satisfied with. As long as you jar them at the right time, meaning you didn't let them dry too much, dry too long ( risking mold) or not dry enough, you're good to go.This is what works for me.

My approach also.
I find it's easier for me to do a complete finish trim before I hang em' for the initial drying.
Sugar leaves do a "shrink-wrap" kinda thing if left to dry on the buds. They suck into the the bud, molding to the buds as it were making it neigh impossible to trim em' away. And me myself and I all want the sugar leaves for tinctures or whutever.

Chop plant into a few individual branches.
Trim all fan and sugar leaves.
Hang branches in open air for a few days. When first harvested and full o' moisture the buds are softee squeezy to the touch. If put into bags like this, the buds can develop flat spots as they lay in the bag. No harm other than aesthetic.
After a couple o' days and the buds have dried a little, firmer to the touch but still far from the snappy-stem point, into the bags.
Snappy-stem dry, into the jars, burp til 62% or there abouts and cure. And partake (-:

Low humidity is my problem to im out in lower az. I got a humidifier to bump up the hang dry to 50 percent until im ready to jar them up

low humidity ,then if your hang drying like I do too, then cut them longer, slow down the air flow too. that'll help them through a 4-5 day dry which works fine for me. or longer. but hell Ive done as short as a 3 day dry and did great. so it does depend on a lot of factor from bag and hanging.
