Most of the advice I'd give has already been stated.
Re: pot size, it depends on the cultivar. Smaller varieties like Strawberry Nuggets do great in 2 gal pots, medium varieties like 3 gal... I have had huge autos in hydroponics.
Given your small cabinet I would look for low stretch varieties. Opinions vary but I think that we have a bit less control over final size than photos because of the fixed automatic life cycle.
Not much room for scrog in a small cab. You could put screw-eyes around for the option of tie downs or to hold a net, but then your plants are in a fixed position and accessing the back will be difficult. Even in a 3x3 I have run into this situation.
Day length: @Frankthetank DLI chart is handy. Going by hours, some varieties do great at 20 hours, some are stressed but do great at 18 hours. Of course 20 hours necessitates closer watch over heat and airflow.
It helps to remember that ruderalis evolved in colder environments with less fertile soil and try to finish their life while the days are long and before the ground freezes.
