I've just noticed that the mars hydro store here in au has put the price up on the ts1000w...huh am i missing something here...i got one 2 months ago i paid $219 with free delivery. I hope this capitalizing isn't from a certain inquiry, its definitely not from inflation....lol.

2 different sellers there mate

Yeah ... @MarshydroTina recently posted that due to covid, prices suffered a slight increase. However, be weary of opportunist sellers trying to pull as fast one on you. When in doubt, contact Tina and she will clarify pricing for you.

Doesn't mattter mate if there are 2 different sellers or not price is price, i know for a fact that those two ebay sellers one is a official mars hydro ebay site thats advertising for 400au instead of 219au the other is associated with mars hydro, basically selling their lights for them at a higher price, as well as the official mars hydro site, when contacting mars hydro thay just said oh ok just make your best offer.......yeh right!!!!! because of the covid 19 thing thay jack the prices up what!!! Because its made in china thay got the shits so everything goes up,,i have just looked at similar lights that are made all over the world and the price has not gone up..... maybe the most by 30 bucks au,not double in price like mars hydro. And their side kick sellers...

Caveator emptor:cooldance:

None of the China sellers I know have jacked up prices. Mars Hydro is a China company but there are not in the same market as other Chinese sellers. Their target customers are very different. Hence, I don't consider them a Chinese seller sometimes.

Mars have been around for a long time. They paid their dues and built their brand. Many have tried to compete with them by doing the same strategy but they have proven to stand the test of time.

They are actually competing with name brands in the market. They have designated warehouses in major areas. They prepare ready to use, out of the box models for growers who don't wanna learn about lights at all. They have a very good online/social media presence. All of these costs money and are factored into the price. Warranties are easier with them too if that matters to you?

It will be a mistake thinking that a Mars light is the best value you can get, apple to apple, just because they're from China. The value of their lights is in the brand, service and convenience that the buyer gets. Its up to each individual to decide if these are traits they're looking for in a light?

The TS1000 for instance is about USD160? It has 300++ diodes running at 150W max. Uses cheaper but still solid Epistar diodes. Its also plug and play with beautiful housing.

If you go on Alibaba, you can get 2×288 Samsung boards with a Meanwell 240W Driver for USD100. You get way more quantity of diodes and wattage, more efficient light at 60% cheaper! But you'd need 10 minutes to set it up once you receive it. No plug and play here. Warranty is also difficult to get honored. But replacement boards are cheap enough though.

So there are pros and cons to both options. Just depends on which company has what you're looking for imo.

Just my thoughts.
