Up the creek

I started metal detecting the creeks around me last fall. I am hunting miles of creek set back in fields, forest and corn fields.. What would make a spot on the creek bank better than another spot to drop some plants? Traffic , sun , lack of critters. What else should I look for? Thanks

Possibility of fly overs. Depending on where your at, a cover story.....NE Georgia, Colorado etc. take a cheap plastic gold pan and small shovel....great cover story and fun as well.
