The output on that driver is teeny. 12v @ 800ma is like a phone charger or something close. Low voltage/amperage DC power is safe to play with, but there is no way to get more power. You could step the voltage up x3 to 36v but the current (Amps) is gonna get ÷3 as well. So 36v will totally light a 1212 but at 250 to 275ma or so, it's about 9 measely watts. I'm having a difficult time wrapping my head around that light you tore apart. 12v output at 800ma is 9.6w. Volts (12) x Amps (.8) = Watts (9.6w). That is smaller than the driver I use for my CPU fans. That would actually be a good part to donate to the fan cause. What light is that exactly so I can yell at the manufacturer for their lies. Walmart audio gear does the same thing...1000w subwoofer amp from Panaphony the size of a small book. NO WAY...lol. Then you see the real RMS of the product (Root Mean Square...which is average watts) and it's more like 150 or 200w. Get yourself a no name driver on eBay for $15 that is a 36v or 50v driver with the proper current flow (amps) to get the wattage you want to be at. Or go to Arrow.com and snag a Meanwell HLG for $60. The 240/1050 Meanie will light 3 or 4 fifty volt KAAAAHBS at a little more than 50w each. They work real good and u can dim them.
There called KAAHBS Joe
