Hey Guys. Im in the process of building my new grow closet.

4'/122cm Height and width. Depth is 2'/60cm

Im trying to figure out what would be sufficient LED lighting. I will be supplimenting some light with CFL's Probably 8 25 watt.

Would 2 180 watt ufo's be sufficient? Thats what I was thinking about buying. Perhaps I should shoot for a good 300watt LED to hang in the center. With some side CFL supplementation?

Thanks guys. "AFN smoke out"

Minimum correct wattage for your space is about 360-400 actual watts ... more would make you work harder to keeps temps down ... use mylar on the walls ... I'd get two of the light Nomis uses which I think are 180 actual watts ... unless you live someplace cold you will need to deal w/ heat ...

Nice cabinet ...

Hey m8, im a noob using a 300w LED panel in an 80x80x160 tent and I can tell ya its doin a dam fine job.. 4 ladies doin gr8 under it.. too many for the tent but thats a lesson learned for next time :) i have a 180 ufo as well which has 2 just sprouted ladies under it.. peeps generally seem to say the more u can get in the better light wise but either the 2 180's or a 300w panel will do very well in there from what i've seen out of my LEDs.. their both Vipar lights.. cheap as chips as LEDs go and so far absolutely brilliant value for money.. I luv them :) good luck

Hi Neko, I like the 5W LEDS in the Mars II. It's really bright and the price is right. Although that price for the listing thecuch posted is a really good price too. Something rectangular that conforms to the shape of your grow box would be good.

Thanks everyone. The input really really helps a lot. Definitely more confident on what Ill be aiming for when its time to buy.

That 400w LED looks pretty nice. :Gary::grat:"AFN smoke out"

Im assuming LED's watt for watt compared to CFL's run a tad cooler?

Two of those in the link shown at 200 actual watts each would do the job ... price is good but I don't know anything about the light ... you'll need to move some air no matter what light you use ... although 1 x 200 real watts could be done w/ minimal ventilation ... biggest difference I've found is that LEDs need more space between the plant and the light ...

Neko, I've found with my LED that I have to keep it far enough away from the canopy to control the temp. I am not using any air conditioning just ventilation. I think the radiant energy from the light is causing the heat because when the light is too close to the plants it does not matter how much air I pull through the tent, it remains hot. I think this is the best reason for not oversizing your light too much in a small grow space.

ive got a 60x60x150cm tent and a 180 watt ufo its working fine but ill get a second one to have more Budding and Denser Buds. But at all its fine with one but like Tim Taylor always said.....MOOOOOORE POOOWER muahahahahaha

@ Chester. Thanks man. I was thinking about getting two 180w actuall pull, and I have around 300 watts(actual draw) worth of CFL's I can always add to suppliment if that wouldn’t be to hot. I have a 6 inch 250CFM exhaust fan. I think that should be enough?

@ Jackmc... how far away do you have to keep yours away?

@ Medic Grower. Thanks man. Sounds like by what your saying. 2 180watt ufo's should be set. I have CFL's I can add if my temps can spare the room. This upcoming winter should let me add a lot lol.
