So I have begun my very first grow and I've been anxious and nervous all week. I planted my seeds on Sunday morning and tonight when I got home from work, I finally saw the first sprout and I am ecstatic! I have one Dutch Passion Auto blueberry and one Seedmakers Auto Ak-47. Excited for these bad boys to get some legs on em!

Welcome cheesehead! What a rush it is to see it pop eh!

Great place to grow amongst friends, I just started about a month ago and probably averted a few disasters by reading other threads, check out the stickies and have fun, blaze 1

Good onya cheesehead! Always enjoy a new plant on the way as I have 2 on day 11 myself :) keep it healthy and thriving and good luck! Keep it green

Hello Mr Cheesehead,

New Life begins my friend. Auto Ak is a must try on my list. I love the photo strain. Hell I love every strain.

Good to see you here getting you grow on. Good Karma's sent to ya.

i'm only on my second grow and i know how exactly how pumped you are. Harvest is great but beware of post-plant-depression, haha first go round I was so enamored with them and just in shock that I actually grew my own, i would check on them multiple times a day. Once harvest was done, and I had no plants, i had no idea what to do lol i kept feeling like i needed to check on the plants...so......I ordered seeds and grew more ;)

Good Luck, keep us posted!!

Thanks everyone for the replies and advice. I have actually been so nervous that I've been checking them every morning afternoon and night to check on temperature or anything lol. I should have also put on my post that I'm growing in a 4'x4'x6.5' Mylar tent which is amazing by the way, really easy to set up took less than 20 minutes. I'm also using these Geo Pots which are 3 gallon fabric grow pots, using fox farm happy frog soil with organic perlite, using a 600W digital ballast and bulb which I have on 50% right now but will increase that when my babies start growing more. I have the advanced nutrients micro, grow and bloom basic nutes and for full bloom, I have big bud, bud candy and overdrive. Any advice or tips would be appreciated also, thanks all!

Cheesy,

your are off to a great start. I know how you feel. Its a real buzz breaking your cherry. Don't overwater and do sing to them. They love it.
Keep lots of notes as you will learn so much this time and you will do even better next grow.
All the best pal, eP.

definitely take the advice of the penguin....with maybe the exception of the singing lol though im totally going to do that next time I visit them =P

Another piece of sound advice - make sure to keep an eye on your PH. Through all of my reading and mistakes with my last grow (and trust me. there were plenty)- I've found that majority of issues seem stem from the ph being off, so make sure you monitor that. Keep a grow journal. Im currently on my first (journal), and it is SO much easier, especially being new growers, to be able to look back and date exactly when things happen and if need be, remedy the situation - be it milestones, like first sign of pre flowers or the first time you see yellow spots on your lower fan leaves. Having the journal will help you pin point the potential culprit...or just be a nice reminder of how far you've come :)

One very last thing - and that is, (and this could just be a me exclusive) but make sure you dont over analyze them. And checking on them so often, is one sure fire way to do that lol. I speak from experience. You start to over water, over feed, and pretty much question your every move with the plants up until then - it just ends bad, so dont do it lol.

PS- start referring to them as bad girls vs bad boys - it gives the plants that extra boost in the right direction. Much like singing to them ;)
