Gotta say...coming from a Competitive growing culture....it is Not Unusual for a Breeder Not to tell you Everything they put in a cross...coz if they did...we could All do it......so I worked on the premis there was something in the Originals that we weren't Told about....hence the Theory about a little Fast Afghan dom in the Original mix..that we didn't know about.
so true dat! .... but it never hurts to ask/pester breeders sometimes,.. I've chiseled some nice info chunks out of the Sweet guys now and again- 
... a while back I was asking about why Sweet Special had been discon'ed,..As always, the Sweet guys were willing to share a fair bit if appropriate at the time! ...turns out there was a bad batch, spotted pretty quickly, but just like getting a shite meal at a certain restaurant, peep's tend to turn off rather quickly as well; it was recalled, good stuff swapped out, but damage was done,.. it fell precipitously in popularity, and they ended up shelving her,.. I was horrified, as mine were stellar smokes,... BUT they said, fear not, for she will live on in other crosses upcoming .... hush-hush! .. Lo and behold, she reappears in a few of their new strains now! 
.... I also ask about parentage in others not disclosed, and got some info here and there,... they said after a while, they may even include it in the official description,... But in other cases, nothing doing--to your point!I'm in your camp on the "spectrum" of autoflowering manifestations,... seen many long veg'ing plants come into the Infirmary that were give more time to trigger, and they eventually did, others needed reduced light hours, and some never did anything but grow regardless!......
-- yes, good ol' stitch and the "super auto's",... others coin these variants as semi-auto's,.. none of which are scientifically/botanically defined, so begins the confusion and misuse of terminology! 
..I think one of the best examples of all this is happening right now with FD's mass grows of the ALF#5,... size variants (normal and amazon!), build variants (classic bushy, hash-bat main cola builders), aromatic variants (berry pheno' found),... running in large #'s is the only way to shake some of these out of the tree, and get some statistically solid info about their prevalence....

The good girls are the best I've had to date frankly, I credit the stability of the environment and higher night/overall temps vs. the usual outside roller coaster ride,... That new soil is really driving some insights home, and could be the reason in several cases at Sick Bay why some plants just did not respond to treatments! 
-- Seriously, I have done everything but flush, which wouldn't have done doodly anyway,... not a nute or pH issue that I can pin down, plenty of inoculants.... and with the others doing so well under identical conditions/feeds but different soil, it's the most likely logical conclusion... I just can't figure out exactly why nutrient uptake is so f'ing bad with that soil,.... I'm baffled!... Hold me- ..... When you get going again, I think Cosmic Queen is going to be your kinda girl! Or some Cindy99 auto too,...

oh man, that's a fine cultivar right there! ...they look hand painted,....the black anthers are a trip! ...... Ahh, some later info on the hydro Thai dragon Queen pheno' -..... hard to pin down why the aromatics and potency weren't quite as good as the other,... she did have some stresses! Wai I found a Sweet Special Photo bean! Probably from around 2012...
Now I have only tried to actually work one photo to auto (Buckeye Smash) although I do have several F1s of Photo moms hit with Auto Dads... So I'm limited in experience with that..
However... There's this... I did hit several Autos with that F2 Buckeye Smash Male that auto'd and one strain that I tried growing out (@Magic named Icebreaker :smoking: back in the day!) That is an Ice Cool Auto (sweets) and the BES F2 Male and one of the offspring did not auto. Idk if that falls into the same category Magic's Magic Trick strain... But I did find that odd lol

If you really think about it no strain is stable.. even photos... You can breed em down to a few known phenos but you'll never get the same exact plant every time. Even from a clone... I've never had an exact same plant from a clone as the mother. They may be similar. But not exactly the same!

I gotta read the breeders Bible... The lady got it for me a few years ago and it's in my stack of "to read" books... Maybe I should move it up the line lol
In my experience even when you are able to stabilize a certain pheno structure... I find it hard to nail the EXACT same terp profile too... Imo that's the most challenging to do... But in my LIMITED experience I should say... I'm a mouse among men so to speak with the company here...

I find breeders like yourself and Mossy in particular... I'm sure FD does too! But from all the past posts from you and Mossy I've seen from all kinds of references... My winded point... Lol is study... Just like anything else.... Dive deep into it. @Green Goblin is like that as well. You all are almost like students of this thing we all love and it shows in what you all produce in genetics and plants. I love it!!
