Greets peeps!

The title pretty much says it all...

I'll be popping 3 x Royal AK auto & 3 x Royal Critical auto. They both seem suitable for colder outdoor climate I'm in & the estimated yields seem good although that's obviously calculated under ideal conditions which NW UK isn't :D

I'm hesitant to shell for out for expensive purpose made stuff like BioBizz or Canna Terra but at the same time have read some horror stories about nutrient burn etc with standard garden centre mixes..

I want to go from seed to harvest in one pot so will likely end up layering a couple of different soils.
Has anyone had good results from using pre made "garden centre soils"? New Horizon, Miracle grow, westland, john innes, grow shure, Levington etc??

Or is it worth just shelling out for the proper stuff?

nice one x

I've used soils with John inns worked fine miracle grow people say to avoid.. Asdas own I'm using now got it home opened it thort or wtf is this shit looks like dried horse shit lol took me by surprise plants love it can't over water it drainage is superb and haven't even added any perlite. I grow cheap as fuck dew to cash flow but I gets me smoke still only me to keep happy with it lol..

Not sure what you have there but here in the states I just go to the garden center and start flipping the bags over to read the ingredients.
First will usually be peat moss or sphagnum Moss
Then composted Forest products or wood chips
Sometimes some other organic matter like compost or worm castings, some type of manure.
Then some type of corse gritty stuff like sand, perlite, pumice.
Look for something with no added nutrients. If you can buy a season or a few months in advance so it has a chance for the manure to cool down.

I find a lot of the cactus mixes with no added nutrients have better drainage in are hot as a lot of the other potting mixes.

The biggest thing is read the ingredients.
Smell it also it should smell good, earthy not like ammonia, piss, or crap.
If you have to buy some fine bark chips or pro lite to lighten it up a little bit.
