Hi all
I'm soon to be a medical marijuana caregiver and need to make a decision on afghan kush ryder.

I've heard the smell is not that great nor the taste.
On the other hand it is stable, fast growing, and pretty strong high.

My patients will probably not want it if it smells like it lacks potency.

Anybody care to chime in on this?

AKR is a good medical strain. It has a fruity smell and taste, not overpowering but it is there. I would suggest letting them go long, 11 or 12 weeks, for the maximum medical effect. Great for insomnia.

I have grown this out a few times. The bud in my avatar is AKR! Like Muddy explained, it has some good hints of fruit to it, but it is not for the inexperienced smoker. She has a high THC content to her and if over titrated, will simply put you down for the count. I have to concur on it being a great med strain!!

Ok guys. Thanks for the replies. I fully understand it is a strong medical strain.
My question is on the cosmetics appeal and smell.
Briman do you have pics you can post? I'm using my phone Nd can't get a good look at your avatar.
Besides sling hints of fruit what else did you smell? Strong pot? Diesilish?
I'm hoping it smells like kush atleast a little bit

There are a bunch of smoke reports in that section and grow logs on AKR. Everyone's nose is different. Grow one out and see for yourself. It is some great smoke. You will not be disappointed!
