Whats happening AFN? I’m Rake and I am a new grower. I have helped a few seasons on outside photo plants... so starting at square one pretty much. I’ve done, and am still constantly doing research. The one thing making me nervous is my medium. It’s about 50 percent coco tek coco coir, 30 percent perlite and 20% cocoloco by bushwhacker,
I filled my buckets with the medium mixed and thought I flushed it well enough... my tds output in my runoff is 1.7 EC... how do I get it down? Will it go down? Anyways, I would love to chat with anyone, anytime, about any aspect of autogrow, much Respect to all! Happy grows!

The Cocoloco is the source of the nutrients. You need a good EC meter not a TDS meter. The TDS is for measuring drinking water an EC meter is for nutrients. Don't get a cheap one. Same with your PH probe; these two tools are paramount to your success. Run-off is a poor indicator for anything. Read the instructions on the Cocoloco it probably has enough nutrients for the first 3 or 4 weeks (or it did before you flushed it?). I strongly recommend using nutrient free coco that way you know exactly the inputs. I would just start your plants and watch them they will tell you when they get hungry.
