hey guys

im drying single buds on a drying rack as iv got high humidity issues (60-80%) and my question is, when will you know the buds are ready for jar as theres no stem to test.

thanks guys

Can you snap a bud dude? There should be a stem down the centre of the bud?

If not, does it feel a little crispy on the outside? If so, you're probably ok to stick in jars with a couple of bovedas. How long has it been drying?

been drying since friday afternoon. only been a couple days but ive heard drying racks speed up the dry process quite abit.

so if its crispy outside with a moist center its fine for jars?

Thats what 4 days? Its going to take a lot more than that to dry in a humid environment.
Im drying cherry tomatoes in the oven and they come out dry then an hour later they are wet again from the humidity.
IMO you are looking at 10 days+ l

No you don't want it moist inside, hence try snapping a bud mate. But the crispy outside gives a clue to the state of the inside.

thanks for the advice guys. my first grow and dry so im not sure what over dried is and dont wanna ruin my buds.

Your only concern right now is mold which can still take it all away from you.
If I were air drying in 80% humidity I would be flipping the buds with bbq tongs every 5 minutes :crying:

humidity is not always 80%, it ranges from 55% to 80%. averaging at around 65%

Buy jar hygrometers from ebay...that way you can keep a close eye to get the optimal RH when the weed is jarred. Or get bovedas.
