good morning folks;),:yay:

first of all i want to say sorry for the mistakes in the topic! 8)

i got some bad and completely wrong advices from people, that really should have known better.

i bought an "axial rohrlüfter" which is not recommended/not been built for to be used with a charcoal absorber!

so i have to buy the second time, unfortunatly. :(

now i found this one, what do you think about this lti?:

http://www.growland.net/Rohrluefter-LTI-345-cbm-h-r125

my growboxes measure is:

55cmx75cmx170cm and on 0,42m2 in 0,7 m3.

do you think, this lti is strong enough for this box?
what would you say, which charcoal absorber should i buy? which one would fit?
my main goal is to avoid the smell, not only for a fresh air condition.

i am sorry for that question, i am sure, you heard it a lot of times, but while my research/recherche in the internet i haven't found a "formel" which helps me finding the right combo.

please help me. :)

yours

hope

A nice way to roughly calculate the fan size is this : If the complete air in the grow are is exchanged in 1-2 minutes, you are good. The volume of your area is 0.7m3, so you need a fan that at least pulls 0.35m3 air the minute. The fan you chose pulls 341m3 an hour. So you divide. 341 : 60 (minutes) = 5.68 . So your fan will exchange about 5.7m3 air per minute. The activated charcoal filter, and ducting will create a certain amount of resistance, so you will have to choose a fan size slightly higher than the number (15-25% loss ). Your fan should be fine, if you run it full force you could also choose a smaller size. But it's still just a rough estimate.

The size of the filter depends..Is noise an issue for you? Fans running on full force are very noisy. It's quieter if you choose a bigger fan size, and run it at slower speed.

:tiphat:

what do you think - is an 727m3/h air condition would be oversized? do you think, a 450m3 and 400m3/h charcoil filter?would be enough?
i know, you said, the charcoil filter must be bigger than the fan, but when i run it with quarter speed, or perhaps middle speed it should be enough, don't you think?

@soilent green: thqanks, but that one is too expensive. i think, a 727m3/h at half or quarter speed is silent enough - don't you think?

S&P TD-Silents are awesome! But if we start talking upper class here, somebody should mention Presh Filters and Rhino Filters...:High 5:

@dfx12 by getting a step transformator, you can pretty much get whatever you want if it s big enoguh:High 5:
But if I were you I'd def. reconsider Soylents reply. If I had to start from zero again, I would in any case go for the TD's. Also don't forget that you save 30-50euro that you would need for for the step transformator ( or 60-150 if you buy a closed up one ).

hmmm??? why do i save money with those TD's? is there a transformator included?

and don't you think that the lti/fan with 450m3/h on half speed is silent eough? it should be as quiet as a fridge or a computer.

Hi DFX ^_^

The fan you first linked will be fine.
My Cab is 60x60x180cm (pretty much the same as yours) and i have 220cfm out take which is fine.

340cfm will be lovely ^_^ Just make sure your filter is rated for 340 or just over

These fans have 2 different speed settings, and they are specially designed to be quiet., they have kind of a built in silencer. So you probably don't have to worry about the step transformator. They are very quiet as is. I'd advise you to just check out a growshop, and let them turn some fans on for you. You will be surprised how extremely loud some of these are :D:
