Mephisto Genetics White crack.. biotabs vs regular feeds

That's 1 thing I like about my diy cobs is the freedom to dim, and raise/lower lamps to use minimum watts necessary to meet your needs at any given time. I love them.

Yep just wish I was technical enough to build my own as the ones out on the market are still pricey.

Would you recommend the 20/4 cycle over the 24/0 and 18/6?

I've always ran 18/6 with autos so for me any other schedule is still to be tried and tested. iv always had great results with 18/6 but I'm looking at prolonging the lights on schedule to cope with the freeze and the cold snap in between lights out can stunt and affect yield big time in my experience.

For me it's all about getting the balance right between keeping temps right, energy costs down and enough light for decent end product.

Hey Mitch @mephisto , thanks for reconfirming that. I am looking forward to see how this unfolds and the possibility of lower maintenance grows using the tabs. even if the yield is sacraficed slightly it maybe a worthwhile compromise. These tabs could provide endless possibilities especially if using a drip feed/ self watering system, it could mean only visiting the ladies as little as once a week.

Hey Nabzter,
Nice that you are giving the Biotas a go.
You will like it a lot. It is such a good working product. I have set up my grow 2 week ago, and now the plants are getting fed by the Autopot sytem.
So tomorrow I am going on holiday for a nice ski trip, without having to worrie about my plants :)

Last grow I tried some Auto flowers for the firts time.
I used the mind altering strains of Mephisto genetics
Here is a little example you can get of the combination: Mephisto/Biotabs Sour Stomper

@Nabzter

Not trying to Hi-Jack your thread but I feel your pain on controlling temperature. I grow in a poorly insulated shed and It has an electric heater but the circuit cannot support my grow wattage and the heater wattage. So I vent my grow light outside the tent into the shed and it's a 1000 watt HID so it keeps it warm. Too warm even. I have another inline fan that vents the warm air out of the shed. It has a built in thermostat. So that is how I control the cold winter air without using a heater.

As for light schedule. I am forced to run my light 24 hours on because a 2 hour or 4 hour lights off means the temperature in the shed will plummet and my plants will get cold shocked daily.

I have a lumatek digital air cooled dual voltage multi switch. I can run 400 watt, 600 or 1000. I run 600 for veg and 1000 watt in flower. Anyway I would like to try LED but too pricey for me.

As for biotabs does anyone PH adjust water when using them? Do you supplement with Cal/Mag in flower?

Nice thread mate...I think @arty zan and a few others would be interested...:nicethread:
Awesome @Duggy thanks you for the heads up!
I'll be back to read through this thread!
I saw this just as I was leaving the house!!

Thanks for tagging along all.

@GMAW I am very fortunate for the fact that I have rarely needed to Ph water where I am. From what I understand when using biotabs it will sometimes be necessary to supplement certain nutrients if signs show the requirement and I think calmag is one of them that may needed adding.

With issues regarding heat, I will likely need to run 24 hrs myself and I have calculated running 400w @ 24hrs I would still be saving slightly over my current schedule of 18/6 with a 600w. I am in the same predicament as yourself with the LED issue. I have seen cheap ones out there however I don't know if I want to go down that route only to find out I have wasted money.
