Mephisto Genetics White lines.. Some problems?

Just to chime in. I have a Sour blues At day 6 looking great.
Germed in about 24-36hrs, 2 plates paper towel distilled water and placed inside the tent for heat. Showed a nice root and planted into biobizz light mix.

Two seeds went into jiffy pots this morning, I was out most of yesterday so they got a longer soaking than normal.
Both had a little tap root breaking out so no need to damp cloth them, straight into jiffy about 1/2 an inch down.
They're in their own little containers and in the polytunnel.
I had a quick look at the other seedling this morning and not sure if it is a mutant, when I looked the other day under my magnifier it looked like the ends of the leaves had withered and gone but this morning it looks better, I'll keep an eye on it for the next few days see how she goes

Actually guys I think something good may well come out of this, I want to
Implement a new space just for testing and run it all year round as a perpetual thing.
I'll start 100 seeds of one strain at a time to check germination rates, 70-80 will be potted and grown until sex. Then I'll take a handful to finish out and these can then be used for analysis and photos.
This is usually our formula for breeding but has been on and as and when basis depending on what projects or runs we were doing.
But I think it will be a good method for data collection and hopefully interesting for you guys to watch too, and create a good reference of results, at least using our products and methods.

So keep your eyes peeled. :)

Thanks Peteey, I've never tried a screwdriver but I do get a high germination rate off a butter knife.

I couldn't find my tweezers, but this worked slid it in the hole with the root pointing down slightly push to one side when you pull out (ooh missus) so the seed stays in place.
And yes a rusty screwdriver was probably not the best thing to use

Off to a good start. I've never started, them off in jiffies like that. Is there any benefits compared to straight, into soil after tap root, shows?

Honestly I don't think there's a great deal of difference between the two methods, although jiffy pots and small containers are easier to control the environment I suppose

Hi Corgy, I'd stay stage 1 - see if they get past the sprout and die point early on that others are mentioning.
Stage 2 grow them as you would ordinarily, and see if any are slow/resistant to growing like gbd has found.
We use plain water until the age of sexing +\- , but our well water is also very high in ec to begin with
Cheers!

The seeds has germed, here is what they accomplished in 36 hours scuba diving in the Maldives......alright, alright......in a shot glass. Except for 1 shy beanie the rest couldn't resist a peek-a-boo so far

They digged this, and as usual some Bio-nova Micro life(mycor and such) was casually dropped into the mix, which was then watered with a dollop of GO Worm Juice........supposedly this turn the girls into gyrating wrigglers.........so a shiny pole in the middle will be deployed in due course as necessary........

Yeah, shite picture......but anyways, there is 4 seeds to each 25 L pot, clockwise A1 - A4, B1 - B4 and so on........

The girls has gone speargun fishing, and now it's just a matter of how many will emerge to the surface...........hold your breath Jolly Roger until......... ........thar they blow

Unfortunately I have had a similar experience with the Walter White. I had 10 beans, I tried 6, some germinated but died in the first days, some didn't germ at all. I used Eazy cubes (which are similar to root riot I think) for the first batch. When those were unsuccessful I germed the remaining 4 in paper towel first. Like the previous attempt, some didn't germ at all.

Now I have WW3 which is the only one surviving from the first batch and it's definitely a mutant. WW5 and WW6 are from the second batch and are doing relatively OK but seem stunted. H1 and H2 are Heisenbergs and doing great. H1 is a bit behind because I left it in the propagator too long while waiting on the Walter Whites to sprout.
