White spotting -- two weeks old -- light burn?

Hey guys,

This is a Little Cheese by Barney's Farm. It's a couple weeks old and has just been getting water (and now some light sprays of Liquid Karma (.1-.1-.5) in the soil -- no foliage spraying). I've got it under a 240w LED and also a few CFLs (one 6500k, and the others are 2700k which I'm trying to keep angled over my larger, flowering plant at around day 80).

It's got some of these white speckles on its newest leaves. There aren't any signs of bugs around; I'm growing in organic soil with a little bit of perlite added. Do you guys think it's needing some calcium or another nute? Or maybe it's light burn? My LED is a good 3.5 feet above it since it's mainly aimed at my larger flowering plant, and the CFLs are maybe a foot and a half above it. Pics attached!

It looks like spider mites from what I can see of it GreenKnight. Those things are nearly impossible to see, for me anyways, but if you have a spray bottle sometimes you can spray a light mist over the plant and see tiny webbing from them setting up shop. Do you have any neem oil or SM90? If so, you will want to coat her down pretty good with it making sure to spray under the leaves.

That's what I had thought as well, upon a google search! But I see no webbing at all around the stalk or leaves -- not on the other plant either, that's why I wondered if it was something to do with my lights.

I'll keep looking (since now I'm paranoid), but I hope to God it's not mites...lol...

If you have need oil, it won't hurt a thing to go ahead and hit them with it. If not, you may want to consider getting some as it is pretty cheap and always good to have on hand. Can be had at Lowes and all the big box stores.

I have never seen lights do that kind of damage. I can see one or two spots where some water may have splashed on it and caused some burning. But that looks a lot like mites and the quicker you can get them eradicated the better. If you don't see any webs, that is good, you may have caught it real early. But don't wait long, they reproduce worse than rabbits.

Here's a photo of similar patterning that has been occurring on my plant that's nearly finished -- though, for this one, I thought it was just starting to yellow in it's old age -- but I was thinking it was maybe light related because my space is fairly small (2x2 pretty much) and I've got mylar coated all around the walls -- some leaves have grown out to touch the mylar, so that's why I thought it was light related.

I'll definitely pick up some spray to have on hand! Sounds like a good thing to have. I think I should get a magnifying glass as well!!

Although it resembles the stippling pattern of spider mites, you don't "usually" get them until late into flowering, as they mostly live on the outer tops of buds. And are really easy to spot, especially with a glass or loop. And they tend to leave a very distinct, visable netting of "web". Being as these look to be fairly young and in photo (?) vegging stage, I would get your glass and turn those leaves over and look real REAL hard & close for some leaf-cutter type aphids or other parasites / insects that feed on young and green vegetation. They would be very fuckin' small and usually green (ish) or yellowish. A little smear of Neem oil or Captain Jacks between your fingers and rub down the top and bottom of those young tenderonies should help. Keep us posted & good luck. Puff, puff, pass

I can't see any bugs, but I think I need a magnifying glass or microscope. I'm not seeing 'webs', but there seems to be a glossy/shiny/white stuff on my fan leaves (Now i'm looking at my 80 day old plant) and there seems to be some black spots on those white glossy looking spots.....That would probably be spider mites then? I'm shining a flashlight on all my fan leaves and squinting like crazy, but there are clusters of very small pin-sized dots. Maybe mites from the larger plant migrated to my small plant? I think I've had this problem for a while, whatever it is, and I've just been sort of ignorant to it because my plant has grown and budded nicely. Since I'm on day 80, would it be wise for me to simply chop it now, dump the soil, clean everything off and hang the buds up?? (Assuming they are spider mites). Will my buds still be OK to smoke? I don't see any sign of damage to the buds, just the fans.

I'm not seeing any yellowish or reddish looking bugs roaming around, but then I also don't have a microscope. Also, there isn't any distinct webbing like I've seen on google when I look up "spider mite webbing" and stuff like that. The white spots seem to have clusters of those pin-point dots on them, so that's getting me thinking I've got mites...Here's another pic, but my camera quality is garbage
