Hi there.

Its been a while since i was last active. I'm doing my 6th and final grow with my 125w CFL before switching to HPS.

I have a Royal Queen Northern lights Auto in flower. That is now past the 60 day mark. she actually looks like a Christmas tree lol. i germed on the 2nd of October. which i feel i left a bit late.

I have used a 7.5 litre pot
125w CFL + 2 x 30W CFL's
70% Westland multi purpose compost with JI.
30% perlite
400ml Water ph 6.2 every 4 days
Temps is 25-30 degrees lights on and 20-22 off
Humidity 40-50
20/4

I have gave her 2 feeds of Bio Bizz bloom. The 1st was 1ml in 2 litres and the 2nd feed was 2ml in 2 litres.

Ive used the same water/nutes/medium throughout all my grows and have had some tasty smokes. although i believe this NL wont be ready for harvest till the end of January 2014. Fur fck sake.

I was hoping that id be able to get a smoke out of her on Christmas & ny. even if it means just picking off a few of the popcorn buds. But its not looking good. There are hardly any crystals. :o(

Should i give her a trim. is there anything i can do to speed things up. like go 24/0 Maybe she needs transplanted into a bigger pot. ?

thank you xxx

That is beautiful. Don't mess with perfection, it'll be done when it's done.
Prob not for Xmas, but think of the happy new year.

Hiya.

Rather than start off a new thread. I was thinking...Does there have to be trichomes in order to get any effect. my plant has hardly any. Is this because of the strain or have i done something wrong. ?

Welcome Back KandyK ^_^

I've noted that the more trichs - the more the effect. I guess if there aren't many to be seen, either the plant needs a bit longer or it's the strain.
Looking by the picture it needs some more time to fatten up! ^_^

looking nice Kandy! :d5:

Hey ya Blue. Thank you. :o)

yea i reckon that in order for the NL to finish im estimating the last week of jan 2014. i cant see myself waiting that long. i really want something to smoke this Christmas.

earlier i took a gamble and extremely carefully re-potted her into a 10 litre pot. and feed her some blackstrap molasses.

i see you have done some black creams. i did 2 of those before the NL and harvested both at 70 days. the yeild was quite poor. (Although i expected that with my CFL) i should have left them longer. however the high was just what i wanted. will definitely be doing those again.

:crap:i didn't realise your BC's are harvested and are now in cure...they look amazing. nothing like my BC's.

High YA! ^_^

Here's an idea - don't chop the whole plant before xmas, just some lower buds if they're developed, and quick dry them! (in the over at 140f for 15 minutes .... naughty naughty!!)
It seems a shame to chop too early as you've worked hard to get the plant that nice, it's worth seeing it through for some fat buds - most of the weight is put on in the last couple of weeks!

^_^

we both went to tesco for our water hehe
(well ... i did once and then kept the bottle ^_^)

:d5:

edit: yeahh - the black cream is lovely!! can't wait to get home for a smoke! I did "alright" for yield but can certainly do better if i stop making silly mistakes hehe. I don't mind a low(ish) yield as long as the quality is there - I only grow for me and the other half to smoke :)

Mate i know how you feel...it takes so long for the plant to mature! But it's really the only way to get the best out of your work. From the pics it looks that you are just at the beginning of ther flowering stage...i think that end of January is actually a good guess.I've ruined too many plant due to be in a hurry to harvest...

Hi again Woops

One thing with me.... ive never yet properly dried and cured my weed. As soon as the smell is there and i see trichomes and in abundance. (like the BC & previously grown SAD and Cream caramel) i start smoking the lower buds and if i get baked lol i continue to work my way through the plant until its gone. I'm really pissed off at myself sometimes for smoking immature bud. I guess that is what newbies do.

one day hopefully im going to wait it out and force myself to be patient.

I just hope that with the NL that its due to the strain, by not producing enough trichomes. Everything by sweet seeds that ive grown is always just glowing with crystals. i really think in future i will stick to sweet seeds.

Hah yea Tesco's ashbeck mineral water. its Ph value is appealing. and has served my grows well.

Cant get over your BC though in comparison to mine even though im using a crappy 125w CFL. The high from it was one of my favourites. i cant even remember what it was like it was that good. "Woozy..?"

Going back to my NL do you think it might be worth switching to 18/6 ? would that kick start an invasion of trich's. ?

Just wait.

You have done a good job with that plant, doubly so considering the light you
have. I know it's hard, but you just have to wait.

Do you have a bloom booster? I am trying one, today was the first time I used it, actually.
It's GO Bio Bloom, a booster is something you use on top of bloom nutes. No idea how good they are,
but it is something you could try.

i think with every grower. the waiting thing can get a bit frustrating..I certainly have no patients...And i wonder if i ever will..I'm more frustrated with this Freebie Royal Queen NL auto.. i kind of wish it was something by sweet seeds.
