Since ive yet to decide if im going to use the fox farm sledgehammer i thought id ask.....would watering my 6.5 gallon pot with plain water until i get the normal 10% runoff help rid any salt build up at all? or would that just do nothing but make her more hungry? im not sure if i have build up already im only about 35 days in, i just dont want to have to deal with build up later into the grow since photos obviously take longer. Please let know what u guys think thanks :peace:

Would watering with plain water until 10% runoff help remove any salts? or would i have to flush with 13 gallons through since im using 6.5 gallon pots? i just want to rid any salts from the veg nutes before i switch to bloom nutes. thanks for any help :Sharing One:

Hey fweedom, Yes, you could give her a 13 gal flush, or you could go get some Fox Farms Sledgehammer(or other cleansing agent) and give her a normal amount of water you feed with. I have not used a cleansing agent in between transition from veg to flower, but I do use a cleansing agent on my first flush. Here is what I do....
veg to flower, I flush with 2 times the size of the pot.
10 days out from chop, I hit em with FF sledgehammer with the same amount of water like a normal feeding. Then I just give them enough water every 2-3 days like I normally would until chop. I could go longer with the cleanse at the end, but the sledge hammer really drops the salts out of the medium.

thanks for the reply bro! i never usually flush from veg to flower with autos either but this is my first photo grow so im not sure if its necessary or not really.

i got some sledgehammer but ive read a pretty good amount of reviews about how after people used it halfway through their grow their plants started to become worse and less healthy and wouldnt absorb nutes as well after they used it, and right now mine look pretty good so im just a little apprehensive cause im honestly not sure if there is already build up or not i was gonna do it more as a precaution for later if that makes sense. But im now considering just using it for just the final flush.

I have 2 plants that both need water here in less than an hour but only bought 4 gallons today.... since id need 13 gallons for each one would running 2 gallons through each one do anything? or should i flush with 13 or not flush at all? typically after 1 gallon i get about 10% runoff :Sharing One:

sorry for all the questions im high and tired and the lights are on at 11 pm so im just tryna figure out wtf to do lol

There are a few guys and gals that just give a good flush between veg and bloom with autos and photos. I too have read that the FF sledgehammer doesn't hold onto nutes after use, but have also heard the opposite from other growers and forums. I would just give a good flush with plain old PH'd water and save the FF for the cleanse!! I have didn't flush on my last grow with the Purple Kush, and I got some serious salt build up. But I like to hammer em pretty hard in flower with the additives and nutes. Happy Growing bro!
