Just creating a thread to show my progress in the appropriate section. Since they are Mephisto beans.

Both at day 12.

I have them both in fabric pots, under a mars hydro 300watt old panel.(180 actual draw)
1 is in a 1 gallon, and the other 2 gallon.
All organic soil/nutrients/fertilizers.
lighting 18/6

This is the 2 gallon Mutant. It developed only 1 proper single blade leaf, with the other one looking like a nub. So, it will be interesting to see how this one develops.

This one is not a mutante, and in the 1 gallon fabric pot

Day 19
Im expecting this grow to be a stunted grow. Well, possibly. The soil I used is to dense, and not enough perlite was used. So, hopefully they will be ok. They look ok to me so far.
Mutant 2 gallon is developing 2 center nodes(2 main stalks)

Ill be leaving them in the 1 and 2 gallin fabric pots i have them in. In the family photo. Those black pots are fabric pots. I have some small 20 ounce plastic cups I set on top of with the bottoms cup out. So, I could plant the seeds in a seedling mix, and just let the roots grow down into the soil mix thats in the fabric pots. Which has been amended to have organic nutrients ready, and waiting. Cheers, and thanks for stopping by. Im usualy just chilling in the micro thread. My tent is only 5 feet tall. So I never grow in larger then a 3 gallon. Well, so far anyways. this may change in the near future.

I am puzzled because some of the plastic cups are not centered on the fabric pots. In the family photo, the plant at the bottom center and the plant at the farthest to the right. I like the many yellow sticky glue traps for bugs. Bugs on the plants suck, especially thrips and spider mites

I placed on platic cup off center because its a 2 gallon. So, I did that to allow the it to get plenty of light in its seedling stage. Since the main pot isnt placed in the center row of pots. Yea, I hate bugs on my plants lol. Luckily Im only dealing with fungus gnats. Which a plethura of sticky tapes keep them at bay. I never use recycled soil indoors. I take it immediately to the outdoor grow. For me, this greatly reduces pest risk. Since I dont have an oven to sanitize my soil. The fresh soil coming in all the time is what brings in the gnats coincidently lol. I can deal with gnats. I just dont want mites.

Now I understand, thanks for explaining. I've read opinions that longer roots give better yields, your plastic cups give some extra root height, and you can start seedlings in 20 oz cups, while avoiding the trama of potting up. Interesting.

Oh, no problem my friend. Yea, it is convenient for me. Ive seen some strains no respond well to this method, but generally most have. From my experience. Ive dont a direct transplant from a 16 ounce cup, into a 2 gallon fabric pot. Then I had the same strain right next to it. Tiered with the plastic cup on top of a 1 gallon fabric. This one grew significantly taller then the one transplanted into a 2 gallon.

Looking good bro, would not say they look that stunted to me. That funky mutant is growing just the way my twin taproot Deep Blue C mutant did, she ended up throwing out 2 colas with ease due to it.

Chair drawn, Solo loaded and a grinder full of weed, think thats all that should be required to enjoy the show.

Thanks Brother! Im really excited for the mutant. Since it was "topped" with no stress training required. 2 main colas sound good to me lol. Thanks for your kind words my friend. I always appreciate you stopping by to say hey =). :pass::drunks:
