Wow!
Lets try this again! I wiped out an entire multiple paragraph post a while back! New laptop touchscreen sensitive touchpad windows 8 bull shite!! I was pissed to say the least.

So, ya this stuff is a gas that's for sure! Winter is a good time for this stuff too, to cold to work outside!!

Raspberry Pi is the coolest widget, I have 5 at last count. Three connected to my TV sets, I use RasPlex and a Plex server, on for a music player using Rune and a DIY DAC and I still have one of the original B models doing not much. I am fairly sure there are plenty of MIO boards out that will bolt right on it.
What would be way cool is Arduino based sensors and controllers tied together with a Pi, via wireless!! WooHoo, got my propeller spinning now!

There is a "Raspberry Pi to Arduino" shield that you can attach to the Pi that I think allows use of shields/boards/modules designed for the Arduino. Have you ever used any of those Xbee wireless modules before, willie?

No I have not had the opportunity (read $$$) to try the X-Bee stuff although I am mighty curious!

Have some experience with the X-Bee Pro. Use them to comm. with remote monitoring sites in the field. Works great with 50+ nodes. However if you have several remotes hosts all polling for data from the same string of nodes, the traffic gets a little cumbersome. Lots of missed data

Hey KsjAuto! Looks sweet. I am at a bit of a standstill at the moment. Life has a way of getting in the way. Family issues and some extra repair work around the homestead is eating into my "free" time. Still reading and planning. Got my Pis and an Arduino UNO along with other funs stuff. Quick update. Life is still in the way. The WWW household is in a bit of a fiscal downturn and I have been working some side jobs lately. Combine that with the house projects and it seems like I just work, sleep, work, sleep... You get the idea. I am setting up a work space in my office and hope to get some work on this in on my lunch breaks!

Hey!
Back for a quick update.
Got an ethernet shield ordered Friday. That should be the last piece for now. It has an SD slot for storage. So I have an arduino UNO board, temp sensors, breakout board, assort wires, 2 line display. Time to get going!! Things should be slowing down in the whirlwind that is my life at present so I hope to have some time. I have a bunch of notes to put together.
That's it for now, not much. Hope to be back next Sunday with something a bit more that this!
