Lighting WWWillie and The COBS

@BigSm0 I have been pondering about these. Do you think these are a good fit for veg or should I look into a different temp. 4k or even 5k to go more blue? Just curious and wanted your thoughts.
Thanks!!

Personally I use 3500k throughout. At times I have messed with the 6500k which is very blue but not done any real side by sides with the 2. You should see less stretching with the 4000k or 6500k though. In an ideal world with 2 separate rooms I would go with either 4000k or 6500k and use the 3500k for flower. I don't think it's 100% necessary but it would have a slight advantage.

Thanks. What I figured. If I was to start fresh I would consider it.

How's the DIY coming wwwillie? Not many pictures around of the completed rigs with the almost complete's. I posted some pics of mine in the DIY thread but not here yet. It was a major pain in the rear doing it with 80/20 extrusion but the end appearance is nice. Also allowed me to throw in some samsung strips. I only planned on using them for early veg but for the extra 12 watts per strip- 48 watts total I decided to leave them on full term.

Damn man that is one sweet set-up. So neat and tidy and roomy!! My room is like one of those sliding number puzzles. You have to move stuff to get to other stuff!
Anyway, the almost dones are connected up and running in the tent I bought them for. I need to finish them though. Want to solder the connections, add techflex to the cabling, build a control pod for the dimming pot and nifty watt meter I bought for it and perhaps a nice base for the driver to help dissipate some heat. I have a couple pics I'll get them posted shortly.

Here is the whole set together. Four seem perfect for my 4x4 tents. That's the driver on the chair with the dimming lead unattached and the watt meter.

Here is how I attached them to the ratchet hanger. This one puzzled me for a bit. I wanted something sturdy that would look ok and function well. I used some angle brackets and flashed on the idea to use the little cable key chain widgets you see in the picture. I got a bunch from China, like $2.00 for 20 of them. They work perfectly, look ok and should be sturdy as heck.

Like I said in the last post still a ways to go to get them complete, but they are functional and working in the tent.
Man I love these things if you haven't guessed by now.

I love it my man!

Could you strip the white casing back and just run the red and black to the cob itself to eliminate the junction? Looks like you had fun doing the build too which is nice. If you could do it over would you have bought the completed autocobs or just the DIY version? Some people like to tinker, some don't care and just buy the cobs complete and some do what it takes to save money. I'm very happy to have added them to the store.
