Completed Grow of 2x OG kush + Mystery seed + home grown seed, citizen CLU048-1212 cobs

Electricity costs are rising, so I decided I will start a new grow, with the same OG seeds (turned out that 1 seed was a mystery, and 1 OG failed so replaced with a home grown seed) but this time a standard (for me) 4x scrog, quick veg, 16 nodes per plant, flower.

Top up the stash and hope it lasts untill power costs fall again.

I bought a new filter extra long as the "shorty" doesn't seem to allow enough air flow or remove enough heat, I now have great negative pressure.

Costs:
4 seeds .............................. 20 eur
2x 40l soil........................... 12 eur
6x 10l coco ........................ .. 6 eur
2x 10l perlite ...................... 12 eur
New filter ............................ 45 eur
318kwh @0.44 eur pwh. = 140 eur

TOTAL cost = .... 235 euro

OG-Kush x2 137gms
homie&Mystery 144gms

total 281gms

a little less than a euro a grm, I should live with that.

Used up current batch of nutes, zero cost, as already factored into the last grows.

The story so far:
June 30, dropped 4 x OG kush seeds into jiffies.
1 OG failed ,put in a homie
July 05, 4 seeds are now popped, 3xOG, 1 homie.
July 10, put under light at minimum power 4cobs @70w
July 18, repoted 2 plastic buckets, 2 grow bags
July 25, topped
July 27, upped volume 100watts
July 29, training/tucking begins
July 31, topped and upped volume 140watts
Aug 01, upped volume to 190watts 4x35v x1.050
Aug 03, 1st feed
Aug 06, Schwazz-defol, flip, added 2x 2700k cobs = total 225watts, last veg feed.
Aug 14, flower pistils become noticeable.
Aug 17, final tuck, looks pretty full.
Aug 21, added 2 more cobs 8 now, kept power at 240watts +/-
Aug 27, schwazz-final defol, nothing todo now but water, feed and hope nothing bad happens.
Sept 01, and boom! just like that, as of 01-Okt electricity costs 50% more.:grrr2: the second such increase, so this is 100% more than when I started this grow.

Oct 15, cut down, clean up, time to wait for it to dry.

september 28, quietly scrogging the days away

Cheering her on from the side lines, go homie go, she's doing great :woohoo:

Tbh my "homies' are really good plants so far, vigorous growth, large sticky buds and a heavy stone, and so far they have all turned out to be females.., which is not bad from heat stressed hermie's :smoking: I should probably breed them for more seeds, but then again......

Decisions decisions, you're obviously on point so whatever you decide to do will come good, nice problem to have mate :baked:

a couple more day, a couple more pics.
The homie is surging in growth, a powerhouse.
lamp is still only at .525mA minimum power and the plants seem to be loving it, I realise that I used way too much power on the last grow with 8 cobs @ 1050mA, even turning the power down to 75% was still too much.

its interesting to note that the 2 OG kush in the grow bags are slightly smaller and slower than the one in the bucket, in fact the two buckets seem to be doing better all round than the grow bags, the soil mix is identical in all pots, (I have felt this as I have tried grow bags) the plants just do not seem to be as vigorous, I thought I was possibly doing something wrong, as grow bag marketers and other users seem to get better results, but for me i think I prefer plastic buckets.

6 days since repotting, they should be looking for some watering over the next few days, in the mean time I will let them push out roots in search of water and nutes.

Totally agree with you re pots vs bags. I used bags in my first two grows and actually swapped to pots because so much easier to clean re infestations etc so can use again. But my plants since have been markedly bigger ( and when harvesting have noticed the root ball is bigger and stronger) and healthier ( although that may also be because I know more now, what with every day being a school day) looking good mate, sending good canna vibes

today I topped and started a new page in this journal...because, well, why not.

a couple more days, a couple more shots.
they seem to doing ok after the topping, so I think I will turn up the volume a little to 100 watts, lift the lamp 5-10cm and extend the photon spread as the plants are opening up a little.
Its quite noticeable how open the plants are growing under the low light, even though the photon level is still around the 800 mark (according to the app) the good thing is that it makes training easier when I can actually see the branches and not have to dig through the cabbage like mass I usually have with higher power.

No cabbages today. Your photos are really good, I like the close ups, it shows clearly what you're doing so those of us who haven't tried it ( namely me) can get a better idea of what's going on. Beautiful girls to btw, and obviously I'm rooting for homie :bighug:

Thank you for the complimentary comments, I have to be honest and say that I got almost all of my scrogging info from GWE and LBH's famous scrog tutorial, LBH's Famous ScrOG Tutorial | Grow Weed Easy

i do have a tendency mess around a bit, but the basic premise is follow the rules, my biggest addition is the plastic covered metal fence I use as a scrog mesh.

As for the cabbages, see pics from way back when using a Mars-hydro ll 700,

Yea proper cabbage patch, can totally see why you changed things up. Thanks for the link too, I'll check it out. BTW when I went in this morning TW had straightforward herself right back up so had to break her neck again. I'm supposed to be a hippy but you gotta do what you gotta do :shooty:

I have this green rubber coated garden wire stuff, its really bendable and grippy, its great for holding things in place, I get it from the local dollar stores, action/bigbazar etc it works great for super cropping as well as a dozen other uses.

Good to know, I'll have to have a look see if we have something similar over here, have what came with the tent kit but it's sooooooooooo thin and crappy that I won't use that. But def going to look for some like yours :d5:

only 24hrs and a noticeable spurt.
turned up the volume to 100watts -/+ yesterday, 4x CLU048-1212 @ 34v x .730mA

And boom, just like that "tucking time" has started, from now on its a daily task to tuck and adjust to create a flat even canopy, possibly the worse time for a heavy handed, impatient guy like me, but it has to be done and has to be done
daily..
IMG_20220729_080026.jpg

The plastic covered metal fence is ideal for leveling and tucking, no ties needed just wait for some growth and tuck under the next wire. the two plants at the rear become basically inaccessible from now on, because the tent is in a cupboard I only access from the front, nothing is prefect but I have grown used to this situation and adjust accordingly.
IMG_20220729_080036.jpg

Homie isnt quite as tall but is a fair bit thicker and a heavier growth pattern.
IMG_20220729_080041.jpg

First stage tucking to start the horizontal growth patterns.

Wow that happened really quickly it seems, keep focused and work your magical powers :frog:

Yes indeed, once topped all the growth power is pushed into the remaining branches, just have to keep on tucking (gently) :smoking: and guide bring those branches up to and along the mesh, top 2x more, and fill up the horizontal space before flip and stretch.

21 days under the light, no extra nutes (except the initaial nutes allowed to soak into the coco fibers before mixing the medium) light at 100watts. 4x cobs @ 25w = 34v x .750mA +/-, running very cool.

More tucking, some before and after shots today, because, well, why not.

Do you raise the mesh or does it stay at the same height because of the training, I've seriously no idea :pighug:

I have to raise it a little (as required) as the plants are still growing for the first week or two of training, the branches can also push the mesh up as they grow too, as its not actually fastened in place , except by rubberised wires, so its quite movable.
Its actually quite surprising how much power is in a plant when it wants go straight up and not acquiesce to the will of the trainer :smoking:

Today was 2nd topping, should have 8 mains on each plant -/+ the ones i Missed and the branch I broke ;-( Mr kluts stikes again..anyways tuck tuck tuck, 3-4 days and then the final topping for 16 mains per plant. will need to remove a few fans for light penetration and opening up for the mains to find their place and so I can find them and place them in a good position. will also ramp up the volume to +/-140watts today. + 3 fans 2x5watts + 1x 25watts
