Completed Grow of 2x OG kush + Mystery seed + home grown seed, citizen CLU048-1212 cobs

Electricity costs are rising, so I decided I will start a new grow, with the same OG seeds (turned out that 1 seed was a mystery, and 1 OG failed so replaced with a home grown seed) but this time a standard (for me) 4x scrog, quick veg, 16 nodes per plant, flower.

Top up the stash and hope it lasts untill power costs fall again.

I bought a new filter extra long as the "shorty" doesn't seem to allow enough air flow or remove enough heat, I now have great negative pressure.

Costs:
4 seeds .............................. 20 eur
2x 40l soil........................... 12 eur
6x 10l coco ........................ .. 6 eur
2x 10l perlite ...................... 12 eur
New filter ............................ 45 eur
318kwh @0.44 eur pwh. = 140 eur

TOTAL cost = .... 235 euro

OG-Kush x2 137gms
homie&Mystery 144gms

total 281gms

a little less than a euro a grm, I should live with that.

Used up current batch of nutes, zero cost, as already factored into the last grows.

The story so far:
June 30, dropped 4 x OG kush seeds into jiffies.
1 OG failed ,put in a homie
July 05, 4 seeds are now popped, 3xOG, 1 homie.
July 10, put under light at minimum power 4cobs @70w
July 18, repoted 2 plastic buckets, 2 grow bags
July 25, topped
July 27, upped volume 100watts
July 29, training/tucking begins
July 31, topped and upped volume 140watts
Aug 01, upped volume to 190watts 4x35v x1.050
Aug 03, 1st feed
Aug 06, Schwazz-defol, flip, added 2x 2700k cobs = total 225watts, last veg feed.
Aug 14, flower pistils become noticeable.
Aug 17, final tuck, looks pretty full.
Aug 21, added 2 more cobs 8 now, kept power at 240watts +/-
Aug 27, schwazz-final defol, nothing todo now but water, feed and hope nothing bad happens.
Sept 01, and boom! just like that, as of 01-Okt electricity costs 50% more.:grrr2: the second such increase, so this is 100% more than when I started this grow.

Oct 15, cut down, clean up, time to wait for it to dry.

september 28, quietly scrogging the days away

Today was 2nd topping, should have 8 mains on each plant -/+ the ones i Missed and the branch I broke ;-( Mr kluts stikes again..anyways tuck tuck tuck, 3-4 days and then the final topping for 16 mains per plant. will need to remove a few fans for light penetration and opening up for the mains to find their place and so I can find them and place them in a good position. will also ramp up the volume to +/-140watts today. + 3 fans 2x5watts + 1x 25watts

Stunning work there mate :worship:

I have to raise it a little (as required) as the plants are still growing for the first week or two of training, the branches can also push the mesh up as they grow too, as its not actually fastened in place , except by rubberised wires, so its quite movable.
Its actually quite surprising how much power is in a plant when it wants go straight up and not acquiesce to the will of the trainer :smoking:
Makes sense now, ha haha. Thanks for the explanation, will definitely have a proper think about it for the next grow, although have said that before :pass:

So another day, some more pics some more tucking, broke another branch, damn I am clumsy some mornings :deadhorse:
Also decided I dont like the OG kush plants at all, they just dont seem to want to submit to the scrogging... anyway some before and an after shot. i also gave them a feed, in prep for flip on Sunday....that will be 28 days under the light, am no longer planning to top again, I will tuck during stretch until the space is full and then just them rise up to the gods.
The homie is far stronger, bushier and nicer looking than the OG's imho.

Day 26 in the tent, 32 days since they all popped.
Tuck, tuck, tuck everyday.
Sunday, flip, add two 2700k red CLU048-1212's to the mix, lift the lamp for a more even spread to cover the growth toward the middle of the tent.
Before tucking.

Current mapping with 4x CLU048-1212 cobs, the numbers are not as important as the light distribution. Map created with my S5neo and ppfd app, (created with no real care or attention) :smoking:

I will make another map when I add the 2 x 2700k's and reset the lamp height for a more uniform (hopefully) mapping.

Absolutely stunning, love the map too, totally get it now, thank you so much for your kind help, will do my log tomorrow and record ppfd etc. Lovely work :bighug:

Okie dokie, so day 28 in the tent, 34 days since pop.

Went to town on the defol, got carried away in fact, but I am sure they will bounce back.... pretty sure anyway.

gave them a massive 2ltr watering and veg nute feed (the last veg nutes) from now on, flower nutes, royal sugar and green sensation to the end.

Rewired and reset the lamp power, lowered power to keep temps down as much as possible, (6 cobs produce a lot of heat) now runs 4x CLU048-1212's 3500k + 2x CLU048-1212's 2x2700k = 225+/- watts, I can turn it up to about 300 watts max outout, but the heat gets out of of hand.

Quick mapped the light distribution, and set to 30cm above the scrog mesh. giving me 5-10 cm wiggle room up/down to increase photon range or increase the power to rain down more photons. after such a heavy defol i dont want to shock them too much.
Flip to 12/12

The before shot

The new mapping, at 30cm power at approx 75-80% (did a quick mapping, because, well, you know) PPFD app on my old Samsung S5neo. i think its a pretty fair measurement, the numbers are not as important as the distribution.

If the app is true to "Migrow's" test and comparison the measurements are approx 200 points lower than would be measured with a Quantum sensor

Your lovely girls, I'm sure they'll be fine but all your lovely tucking work, give it a week and you'll be tucking again. Sending your beautiful girls lots of canna vibes :worship:

Indeed in a week it will be full again I expect, being a bit heavy handed means a couple of broken branches so some uneven spread, but in the end it will all work out, and yes its gonna be a tuck-fest for the next 3 weeks to fill up the horizontal space.:smoking:

So here we are 48hrs after that shocking defol.....

before tuck and after tuck.

Obviously I am expecting the usual 21 days or so of stretch, during which I will be tucking for at least the 1st 10 days I expect, At which point I rather think the horizontal area will be very much full of flowering buds, and and then its just about giving them free reign and letting them rise up to the heavens,

I have enough space above the lamp to allow for ventilation and heat extraction, the extra long filter helps remove a little more heat while allowing the exhaust fan to maintain pretty good negative pressure, even with the bottom vents open.

I will defol the occasional leaf as needs be for penetration and then run a mega defol around the 20-21 day mark, for the rest its just "Plagron" flowering nutes with added royal sugars and a couple of drops of lemon juice p.l (high Ph 7.8 water) for the first 3 weeks and add green sensation for the final weeks of flower. K.I.S.S.

4 days after flip and defol. before and after shots.
I honestly think that the trick of scrogging at this point is getting as many bud site as possible at the same level with pretty much equal spacing across the horizontal area, its laborious work and not quite as simple as it first seems, everyday is tuck, move, tuck move etc.(dangerous work for someone as heavy handed as myself :smoking:) but worth the effort once the flowering begins and bud sites begin to look like a fine forest.

Nothing much to see here, just tucking, tucking, tucking..... is did add another page though, in the hope that they would start flowering already...:smoking:

Day 9 flip, tucking, tucking, running out of space... the good news is that all 4 are ladies, so I have nothing to be unhappy about, Although its damned hard to keep them cool with local temps up in the 30's for the last few days, ah well, such is life.

If I can tuck 'em down for the next few days I might be able to control them enough to achieve a fairly flat canopy by day 21 of 12/12... gotta keep faith :smoking:

Not a great deal happening, tuck, tuck, tuck, water, flower nutes and a splash of lemon juice in the water.

Quietly scrogging the days away, it is at this point that one notices how important the two water bottles become, its now difficult to water the two pots at the rear without them.

10 days after flip, Final day of tucking, tucking, tucking, for the most part from now on its just letting them stretch "mostly' naturally, an occasional bit of readjustment but no more heavy training and tucking I think.

Just quietly scrogging the days away.... things are beginning to take shape now, the hard work :smoking:is done, one major cleanup and defol around 21 days mark and then its on the home straight,

here are some top shots of all 4 plants, a side view and and under the canopy shot, because, well, why not.

Under view fairly good light penetration, but I expect I will have to clean all those lower bud site at some point
