As the title eludes to, this will be the journal of my first grow. We're already three weeks in at the point of starting this, we've already had THE CLAW, and the autopot just got up and running.
We're doing SLH, 15L fabric pot folded down to fit 10L of coco, feeding her with Canna Coco A&B, and eventually Mg+ supplementation through foliar feed. That's the plan for now at least.
Tent is a 40x40x120cm, and lighting is provided by a HLG QB288 v2 RSpec.

Vegging
Bean popped and the process has started.
Veg - Day 5
She's just shown her head and developed the first set of leaves. Excitement follows.
Veg - Day 9
Second set of leaves are coming in! At this point she was getting watered as was seen fit. Which we'll shortly see wasn't correct.
Veg - Day 12 - Chaos ensues
"Oh fuck". Chaos ensues. I'd been gone for a day or two and not been able to keep check. Dumb mistake as I thought the coco would manage it, but it went dry.
Stem turned weak and it fell over on itself. This was not a good move. After consulting with my teacher she got some supports installed, and all I could do was pray it'd help.

Veg - Day 14
She was starting to look a bit better after getting some help to stand up. Leaves were coming in, but those with a keen eye might see the start of the dreaded C L A W, as well as a slight yellow tinge. We'll come back to this shortly.
Veg - Day 17 - How I learned to stop the claw and love runoff
Oh fuck.
At this point, my teacher had pointed out the claw. We were trying to figure out both what it was and where it came from.
My first and best guess for what to do was that on top of the coco having gone dry, I hadn't watered until runoff.
ALWAYS WATER UNTIL RUNO
.
At this point she was just about strong enough to stand up on her own without the tape, just resting on the support-stick, so tape got removed and praying continued.

Veg - Day 18 - Progress
After said flush and a nute (2.5ml/L A&B, EC 1.0) she was looking a bit happier. Slowly but surely on the road to recovery, and from now on watered daily until the autopot gets switched on.
Veg - Day 19 - The Road to Recovery
The absolute sigh of relief. She had some new leaves, her stem was getting stronger and stronger, and I could finally stopped fearing that I had messed it all up.
At this point I'd settled on the amount of lighting. Around 350 PPFD, 23.5 DLI. This will shortly be turned up to about 500 PPFD, 34.2 DLI, and kept there for the duration of the grow.
Feeds were now switched to 1.25ml/L A&B daily, half what she got from the flush. Less is more.

Veg - Day 21 - Autopots
She was at this point looking so much happier than before. The stem was getting solid, the slight lean got fixed by packing some coco into the hole she'd made from tipping over, she's a lot greener and hope returns to yours truly.
She was now in my eyes ready for the autopot. 10L of 1.25ml/L A&B-solution was added to the tank, the valve was turned and we're off to the races.

Veg - Day 21.5 - Late night shibari
So. I was going to be content with the work that got done on day 21.
But right before bed I got the itch to check on her again, and to do something about an overlap in leaves that has appeared. Long story short, out came the twine and steel wire, and down came the leaves. With a little bit of careful knotwork and some tucking of the leaves, she'll hopefully be really happy with the fun we had tonight next time we check in on her.
