RQS Fruit Spirit Photoperiod

Hey folks!
I have a bit more time on my hands to take of my plants, so I'll get a couple of photoperiods going. A mix of blueberry and white widow, it was apparently bred by RQS in partnership with an musical artist whose name I completely forgot. Despite being Indica dominant, it is supposed to motivate your creativity and will to create.

Still on the Mars Hydro TS1000 dimable, with a Mars Hydro 2x2 tent
Two small 8in fans
Small fan heater (that I'd like to use as little as possible)
Dehumidifier 200w 10L/day
Biobizz all mix + perlite
Step up to the 7gal DIY plastic pot with holes
Might add a bit of RQS Easy Boost granules in the soil after transplant
Mini AC unit 7000BTU
Couple of hygrometers

No carbon filters, vents, or anything else...

Week 1 - Seedling Stage

Here we go again, it's the moment when you plan and get to action, and nature laughs and give you the usual challenges. (It's indoors, you're in control, they said.. well yeah but..)

The cam of my phone is starting to do strange things again, it must be the worst I ever had. Really time to invest in a little camera. Sorry for the blurs

Things starting pretty good, with good size seedlings, one dominant. Tried to push up the temps and RH without extremes, but the outdoor weather seems just about right for a 24C/65%RH average indoors so I won't push it. Watered them twice by spraying the soil until a drop came out the bottom, second time today.
Lights are at about 18in and on 35% power. So it's a little bit higher thant the last F1s that are still curing btw.

Week 2 - Seedling Stage

Hey chaps! The weather has been pretty good and allowed me to keep the environment humid and warm. Needed a wet towel to make it sweet enough though. (AVG 24C/70%)
Leaves are getting pretty thick and luscious so I'm happy. I'll top them a couple hours before lights out today and will repot the left one as soon as it's recovered, as it's obviously the strongest one.

Week 3 - Vegetative Stage

Hey ho.. So it's been a busy week. Started by raising the intenstity of the lamp to 50%, then topped the left one an hour before lights out on the 23rd. Repotted on the 26th a couple hours before lights out (will defo do another repot to the final pot very soon) adjusted the lights to about 17/18 inches above the canopy
Let it recover, then raised intensity to 75% and started LST. One wire around the base to hold, and another grabbing the biggest fan leave on the opposite side. Hopefully, the lower branches will shoot up. Tried to stick around 25C and 70%RH, last pic taken just after watering in the morning, couple hours after lights on.

Week 4 - Vegetative Stage

Hellodelidoo.. So as a reminder I'm faaar from being a pro, and even less with photoperiods (I have to keep reminding myself that time is on my side) and I decided to start LST before the last repotting. Firstly because I had not yet reminded myself that I had time hehe, and consequently secondly, I needed it to take the shape I wanted it to take before growing further. Hooked up the second fan.

I left it to dry for a couple days and repotted it. (By the way, I think it's not a 5gal, but rather a 7gal pot my my..) As my last repotted plant took the process pretty badly, I did not want to water it too much after repot to stress it too much (forgetting again I'm not working with an auto) and in the end went the other way and let it dry too much. I ended up taking 3 hours to water it properly until run off for the first time, juste to make sure I left no dry pockets of soil.

Let it recover, then started a proper LST (I probably could've left this one for later too, as some of the branches don't reach the edge yet) Chopped a few annoying fan leaves, but I'm a bit scared to lollipop now, or if I will even do it.
I realize now I made the mistake to top it too early wanting less but bigger buds. In the end, maybe I should have topped it one node later and chopped the lower ones.

Little one is suffering at the back so I will switch it to flower quickly.

Kept temps and RH at avg 24.5C / 66%

Week 5 - Vegetative Stage

Everything seems to be going according to plan, except the first node branches that are struggling to keep up. A little bit of adjusting the LST, adjusting the lights heights, and play with the humidity according to the temps we get here. A mini heatwave is on the way, so I'll raise up the humididty a bit. Anyways, I got time and a bit of space.
Had a big ol' scare a few days after the first watering: lifted slightly the pot to check if there was still any excess of water and found that a big ol' root had come out of the pot, sparkling white and healthy. My brain could not fathom this possibility, and therefore, stupidly, I grabbed it and pulled (snap!) Then it hit me. 😢

Aw well, shiz happens, and I ain't working with an auto here, gotta remember that. So I stuck to the easiest way to get a rough average of 24C/65%RH, which is let the temprature decide and adjust the RH.

Did a big defoliation/lollipopping on the last day to maximise efforts on the edges...
Til' next week!

Week 6 & 7 - Vegetative Stage

Hi guys! It's been a busy couple of weeks with the visit of family and loads of people in the house so I didn't really have time to update the blog until now. I'll keep this one up to last friday, so not too long ago.

Otherwise, nothing much to report, except the ol' fight against nature... A lot of folding, the occasional defoliating (for it to regrow even fluffier haha). The temps have been really nice and steady and just started to go down a bit. Nothing I can't handle. (It might even help me switch to flower very soon if it stays that way, but I'm stuck with the chillies indoors)

Its green looks a bit lighter than some other pictures, but it's surely due to the amount of new growth.

Took the wet towels out after the last watering and gonna use the ambient humidity that will get down around 55-60% RH. Counting on switching the light cycle to 12/12 as soon as next week.. The plant looks strong enough to get a massive stretch and grow big buds :headbang:

I also LST'd up some of the secondary branches that were thick as a r'n'b babe's thigh.. mad... and regularly tightened the old wires, readjusting with the growth of the repective primary branches.

Little game for viewers: find the thermo/hygrometer on the main picture

Soon come flowering of the fruit spirit (sound of angels singing )

Week 8 - Vegetative Stage

Hello, hello.. still a bit late on my updates but hear I am. (Sorry for the thousands who wait patiently for each new updates every week :rolleyes1: hehe)

Temps and RH have both gone down lately, which is a bit surprising for this time of the year, but well, it becomes less and less surprising every year. At least, ain't to bad for my baby, as we are coming up to switch time very soon. I even spotted a pistil on the 30/04, and can't deny nature's call to reproduce. Switch to 12/12 on the 03/05.

Watering 'til run off, I did not realize that the holes at the bottom are blocked and ended up watering it 8 litres before I noticed something was wrong (I wasn't paying attention) but well, only a few roots suffered (as you can see only certain leaves will drop) It recovered in a couple of days anyway.

Still the odd readjusting of the LST and a quick haircut..

Week 9 - Flowering Stage

Well, it kinda started a bit slowly, after lowering temps to about 22C and RH at 50% and switching the light cycle to 12/12. Only now the pistils start to come out of the budsites, maybe a blowback of the slight overwatering I did last week.

Been attacked by a couple of mini heatwaves, so the in the last days the temps have been difficult to keep under 24C, and I had to get the wet towel out again.

I think she'd deserve a little haircut but I'm always scared to piss her off during the stretch.. Oh well, just a few that crowd the area and cover budsites (looks reallly light green on the picture but it's really exagerated compared to the real stuff

Hey! Forgot to mention the light schedule: 16/8 that I will switch to 12/12 for flowering.. And still wondering if I'll repot only once or twice. For now I'm thinking twice.. Any thoughts?
