Completed RQS Titan F1 Twins (not)

MutatingArt.jpg
Started two seeds this time of another special one, counting on keep the stronger one. Obviously, one started mutating and I was just too curious to throw it away..

I started these in smaller pots to see how they handle repotting

RQS keep saying these new F1 are gonna blow my mind.. let's see

Same ol' recipe, but no nutes.
Biobizz all mix, plastic pots and let's go!

Day 3 - Seedling Stage

So i put these two babies and decided to bottom water them, probably more by paranoia rather than any logical explanation..

And what got out? one pefrectly normal dicot seedling.. and...

😻 a lovely butterfly!!!

Week 1 - Seedling Stage

If you thought the mutation would stop at the cotelydons gnark gnark you're in for a surprise. WIth a mutant, you have absolutely no idea what to expect, except something extreme heheee.. cross fingers

Week 3 - Vegetative Stage

Beginning of week 3, and everything is going ok after a bit of a shaky repot.. (Took them a bit more time to recover than usual)

My little mutant isn't showing any signs of weakness for now, except that it takes a bit more strength to build up each "floor" haha.

I'm getting into trying to get in the best VPD ranges, as I started looking into it, but it ain't easy to measure a leaf's temp. I'd need a good IR thermometer, but in the meantime, I'll just guestimate with the tools I have and good airflow.

If you know links to good IR termometers don't hesitate to share, thanks

Looks like these F1s will start flowering as quickly as the Orion...

Week 4 - Vegetative Stage

Well happy new year to all cannabis cultivators all over the world! 🥳

A bit of advice for all middle-aged indoor growers: watch your back when moving stuff arounf in your tent. I just done my back in and had to stay in bed for a day and a half with a good ol' lumbago. Just by push lifting a fully watered 4 gal pot. 😭

Otherwise, it's all going good, we gonna shoot into flowering in the next few days if not already...

Week 5 - Flowering Stage

Hello anybody who'll have a read at that... Flowering and stretching have started, and as expected the "not mutant" is growing bulk in more volume. (I'm saying "not mutant" but just realized she double-budding on a couple of branches. Visible already bottom right corner of the last pic. So I guess she must have a slight mutation too)

Anyways, I messed up the watering again, can't seem to find the exact point before dry pockets of soil start appearing.. And I'm gonna have to raise the mutant if I want it to be at the same height than the other and not loosing more ground. But I'll wait for stretch to be complete, or almost.

If the buds are as compact as my little Orion in the background, I should be alright by the time I shoot off to visit the other side of da pond see what Guadalajara has to offer :smokeit:

Week 6 - Flowering Stage

Well that was a good week for both with a big ol' stretch and some good budding... But the temps are about to go back up to season records high and that's not good news, as it is a bit tricky for me to control big fluctuations of weather. I don't control everything unfortunately, too xpensive hehe

Week 8 - Flowering Stage

Hey ho lovely bunch of growers.. Week 7 and 8 have just finished, and week 8 has been a bit tricky with warmer but not that much more humid weather, which I don't like much (especially when I keep my F1 Orion buds drying in the same room.. We went about 25/26C with 50% RH which has surely slowed budding a bit, but looking at the pics, they been fattening up anywas.. Now temps are going back down and clear skies, which will do a bit of good. The less mutant on the right is already sucking on its own leaves.

They both developping some slight dark reddish purpleish shades, but nothing like the F1 Orion I just sent to dry.. I'll try not to forget to take a pic of the buds once harvested (so focus on trimming I forget everytime)

Week 10 - Flowering Stage

Hello!
The weather has been fluctuating between cold and dry 😍 and warm and sticky :nono:, so I'm playing with the windows and the shutters to try to balance all that.
Still trying to chase a good VPD consensus without checking leaf temp and using a bit of good sense (and hygrometers everywhere)

With 70 days we're about there from what it says on the tin, but trics are still not white enough to my taste, so I'll leave em for another week at least, until most leaves drop or the trics starts to get amber.

Looks like my phone cam is messed up again btw... sorry if some pics seem to have more contrast or brightness than others

Small babies but seriously fast, gonna start the trim and cure on the Orian one tomoz

Week 11 - Flowering Stage

Another week another dollar, good day all.. I will not continue this grow during week 11 as I'll chop down this week-end, but intended to take more pics towards the end that I'm used to, hence this entry. BTW I solve the cam issue, which evidently was not a cam issue but rather a user issue...

Weather's been dry and slighty warm, with colder nights, which is perfect for the timing. See youse ina few

Chop Down

Well looks all white to me.. Let's chop that down and put it to dry. See if I can keep all that in the tent at 21C max and 50-55%RH

Done a big ol' trim, maybe a bit too much in the end I think. Gonna have to watch the drying closely, seeing that I already dried the Orion too much. And believe it or not, I managed to over rehumidiy it, so it now sits in the jar at 66%, and I've burped it so much that I'm scared to have lost all the goodness of it... well I still keep my fingers crossed

For this one, I'm a bit more hopeful (as everytime haha)

Come on..

Hey dodelidoo.. I haven't given any details about RH and temps on this grow either, my bad.. So it's been pretty fresh and dry all throughout, maybe a bit too dry and fresh during the seedling stage.. 22-23C and 49/52% RH
If I wasn't such a lazy arse and give it a bit more humidity and warmth at the start, I'd have a lot more bulk (the mutant has a pretty big trunk) hehe.. but the MarsHydro is defo a life changer.. I'll probably start a photoperiod haze after that and try to make a monster out of it hehe

About quarter white half cloudy quarter transparent. From what I've read on AFN :)headbang:) the brownier the trics, well I don't really know how to explain it but until I can proper experience the difference myself, I'll go with white...(can't find the thread anymore anyways)

Might take advantage of the week-end to chop that down

A month and a half curing later, 3/4 full glass jars at 63% RH avg then 59% in the last couple of weeks. Taste a little bit harsh, but less then the Orion, and smells a bit stronger. But nothing grrreat to my taste yet. Comfy high and fruity and caramel taste, of which I am not a big fan. Not for me this one...
