Day 7
Okay so here we are at the end of the first week for my little BAM. She continues to grow and change slightly each day but I still don't see any roots coming out of the net pot - can anyone tell me the average time it take for roots to show? I'm sure she'll get there eventually but better to get reassurance from the AFN fam.
One other question - Is it necessary to change the reservoir at this time? I know it should be changed weekly but theres been no root action. If its a good idea just to keep things clean then I have no problem doing it right now - advice?

Hey guys, daily updates continue - would love a few answers to my questions from day 7 if anyone has the time: Still no roots today, to be honest I have no idea how long it usually takes, thinking she might be getting hungry now - I've included 4 different pics, it's hard to get decent photos with a camera phone so let me know what you guys think..advice/criticism etc all welcome :check:

Made a fresh res this evening so it's nice and clean, same as the first one I made up prematurely 
60ml Rhizotonic then upped the ec to 0.8 with aqua vega a+b, hopefully tomorrow I'll see some roots in the water but I may just be getting impatient. She looked kinda pale and hungry this morning (in comparison to my soil grow) so I've made sure the water level is reaching the netpot now in order to keep the rockwool nice and moist - just incase. Well yeah that was a boring update, hopefully things will start to spice up real soon!

We have roots people. This was me this morning ---> :dance:
Since there wasn't much feedback over the past few days (probably due to my over abundance of updates) I decided to go with my instincts. Made a fresh res and put the water level up to the full 15L. I did this for two reasons: to ensure the plant was getting enough moisture in the rockwool - I don't like the idea of top feeding DWC, and the to encourage roots outside of the net pot, something that made me very anxious as a first timer. She also looks quite pale green in comparison to my soil plant so I was worrying she wasn't getting any food. I've read contrasting opinions on where best to keep the water level, one side says keep it lower than the net pot to encourage the roots to go searching for food. The other says set the water level above the bottom of the net pot as it will encourage feeder roots, and I quote "the key to bigger yields". I'm not sure if I saw the roots for the first time today because of the water change or if it was just her time to pop out - either way in the future I think I'll always keep the water level higher then the bottom of the net pot, my res temps are cold enough to avoid root problems so should be all good from here on out..Hopefully now that her root is in the water she will start to go a darker shade of green! Anyways, sorry for blabbing on just hit some haze pretty hard: and enjoy the photos which follow.
