Im not a Hydro dude in the slightest,But I was curious since I really dont know if its the same with the Hydro component involved since the res. is at a certain temp. Im guessing.But more than a 15 degree swing in the lows is often and can be a bad thing in soil anywho.LOL!Does it seem to have a major effect in slower growth?

Below 60 will slow growth and above 70-75may cause algae growth, mold, micro-bacterias which can cause root rot, also above 70 will decrease dissolved oxygen in the res, being another factor to slow growth in hydro. :smoke:

The Dude thanks for by and checking out my journal.:smokebuds: I'm not going to reinvent the wheel as Vick once again come thru with some great info, I never knew exactly what high res temps caused but knew it was bad. Thanks a lot Vick for sharing that and jus stopping by

But The Dude to provide more info on my res, the temp fluctuates from the lowest I've seen it hit 64 F and highest 70.4, it's sweet spot is 66-68 normally stays around there. My temps on the inside have hit in the low 60's bc I foilar feed cal/mag & b-52 right before the lights go off.

Noticed nice significant growth from this morning to this evening. Look how they were even a lil under Bic lighter height than this evening there a lil above the lighter. Starting to get concerned that AA may have to fight for light hard if it doesn't start growing at the pace of the other two. The only thing that was differed in the regime between AA & the other babies is that they were feed Voodoo juice for two weeks and AA was only feed Voodoo for a week I know voodoo juice can't be that good...maybe

Day 16 CB & DD
Day 11 AA

Nice growth overnight, yesterday they were even/a lil above lighter height now they're way above the lighter in 24 hrs I'd say maybe 2" in 24 hours. I think I know what slowed down AA, like a week back on day 4 or 5 of AA being above ground i remember it had an inch tap root like a day or two ahead of CB & DD I had to move the res for temp reasons and when I checked the AA the next day the tap root was gone found it floating when I changed the res about 1.5" long, it's main tap root so I'm pretty sure that's what's slowing it down. I noticed when I cashed the res that AA main tap root stopped growing and put all energy into the side roots. Check pic below

AA is all the way to the right, I believe these were on day 7 of AA
Notice how the others roots are stemming from main tap root. Since AA main tap root broke the other side roots starting growing profusely overnight but her above ground growth halted. I'm giving her special attention and tlc to make sure she's still a beautiful lady when grows up I owe it to her and she deserves it.

Day 16 CB & DD
Day 11 AA

Good growth since this morning, evening check was normal, added another 700ml of the same diluted nute mix, they have really been hungry. AA is still behind I'd say about three maybe four days behind what CB & DD where at 11days. If she doesn't pick up fast I'm going to do some serious LSt action to get her some light bc CB & DD are growing at great rates despite cal/mag def early on and still tweaking that out. Yesterday morning they were Bic lighter height they are nearly double Bic this evening.

Nice green growth. I would make a small scrog screen and start training the girls right around now! How much height space do you have left for growth?

Had to move res down two inches from light, added another light on those y outlet things so that AA could get some more light to her. I need to add another 700ml to the res again they really been eatin.
