Hey everyone. If any of you are in the Mephisto section you may have already come across this. Don’t mean to be repetitive but I’d like it to be in both areas. Basically after my first grow with Autopots I felt like the the standard 3.9 pots were just too big for my medium. I’m growing in coco and just felt like the plants didn’t need nor were they benefiting from all that medium... pots just felt really heavy and wanted to always stay that way. If I could’ve used 2gal airpots I would’ve but they don’t fit in the trays. So 1 gallon it is. I didn’t have faith in a rope wick through the bottom of the pot being sufficient to keep plants watered since the airpot bases sit above the water level so I ended up doing this...

Of course after the grow was already underway I came across a clever method by one of our members that I totally plan on using going forward. Thanks @parsing_trees ! I ended up cutting some orca/panda type film to go around the pots to cover the sitting nutrient water so it’s not exposed to light. Like this...

Day 35 above...

Also in the tent is a White Crack x Double Grape freebie in a 3gal airpot and another DG in a 5 gal airpot. I’m using a HLG v1 knockoff by Meijiu from alibaba for lighting.

Hows it going so far with this autopot setup? I am definitely interested in autopots... particularly the smartpot autopot setup. Hand watering 12-14 girls each grow can be a pain, especially once they are well into flower and each drinking over a gallon per day. I think my lower back would appreciate an autopot system.

I’d say I’m very happy with this run so far. I’ve always been a fan of the system-for years prior to actually having them in my arsenal. When I did my first run... not so much; but I believe that was all relative... Many factors can either make you a fan of them or critic. I encourage everyone interested to read up and ask questions in here as there are many who are having incredible results utilizing this system. Right now, I’m loving it with the Airpots. I’m growing in coco and feel that 1gal is plenty big enough. Down the road I’m planning to try my hand at going organic and using a super soil that will allow me to just feed straight water. When that happens I’ll gladly be using the 3.9 gal pots that came with the system! My next step would be to use 2 or 3 gal smart pots if In the end I feel like I’m not getting what I want out of the1gal Airpots. Overall, it’s an amazing system. No noise, no timers, power requirements etc. It can also give you the freedom to be away from your grow for a while and not have the whole thing go down the drain while you’re away! In my case, it’s allowed me to put more plants in my space than I normally would and maximize my tent space since I don’t need to be getting in and out to water everything. I probably have 2 more rounds of plant maintenance that I plan to do which I’ll be moving everything around in order to get to each plant but that’s 2 maybe 3 times over the next 6 or so weeks instead of 2xday for 6 weeks! Thanks for having a look my friend. I hope I’ve been able to shed some light on the issue for you...

This is the same reason I went to auto pots. Once you turn on the rez all I need to do is fill the rez. You will enjoy the system.

I too find that the 3.9 is a waste of coco for me. I am switching to all 2.2 gal pots.

Also your ladies are beautiful. I struggle with mine being so nice looking.

Thank you my friend. I’m going to keep my 3.9’s for my attempt at organic soil in the future... Very happy with this airpots in the trays so far... I’m going to have to do a really good clean up on the lowers and do more defoliation this weekend as it’s beyond evident that things are going to be very very crowded soon. Already tight in there...

Subbed, love mix of airpots and autopot base.
Thanks for tagging along! I have to say I’m really happy with how it’s working out so far. The next run I won’t have to rely on “rigged up” Airpots. I can assemble them as they’re meant to be used and instead implement the wicking technique that @parsing_trees is using with his 1litre Airpots. I didn’t have faith in it working out for me with just looping rope through the bottom grill but his method using a plant tie through the pot for the wicking rope to go much higher up the pot looks like it should do the trick!
