New Grower 2ND Grow Journal - Cream Caramel,White Widow & Northern Light

Hey Grateful thanks for checkin this out

I lol'd at the air vent too, my wife would kick my ass! Your plants are looking good man, you'll get some good smoke off them! I know it's late in your grow but I've always been told it stresses the plants to switch up their lighting all the time, may be why their growth was slow. If you want to put them outside, leave them there for a couple weeks.. the constant change in spectrum and dark periods can be stressful to the plant.

If I were you.. it looks like you have a nice set up outside, I would run some autos outside while you build your grow shed. Get your temps down and get it all set up right, and then start the run.

Just my two pennies :smoke:

I appreciate the words, although I was hoping for 3-5 good plants instead of 2 again, I have hope for 1 KK at least. I'm going with larger plants next grow, prob Think Diff, Dark Devil, NL Blue & a few others, open to suggestions....

AS far as lighting goes they were on 24/0 till bout week 5 then 18/6 and only the KKs go "outside" cause they are on a diff schedule so during lights out for autos (day time) the KKs get a sun bath. The shed is built, just changing lights and adding an a/c unit later, I wouldn't be able to leave them outside I don't think cause of where I live, too congested and I'm sure the added smell would draw attention from the cop that lives behind me :( I wish I lived on my own but financially can't afford that.

I don't mind advice or critisism, not too many people stop by so anytime I get input it's greatly appreciated.. Thanks

Your setup looks fine, and the girls are really filling in now like they should be. And you didn't seem to have any deficiencies or leaf problems early on, so must be something else. What's your feed regimen during the veg phase?

That leaves heat/water/air/seeds. Oh, and dog chewing. I'd chalk it up to a bad batch of seeds for now I think, and give it another try with some new strains. It looks like you'll get a z off those little girls, which is still impressive.

Thank you sir, the setup is bare minimum but I am content with the space, and when temps get under control I will be happy. Both WW & CC filled out nicely last grow too and I got a little over 2 oz from each. I haven't had any deficiencies like you mentioned so I've been leaning towards the NL just not being a good batch.
My feeding is whenever it feels like it needs it,(usually once a week or week & a half for first couple weeks then more like every 4 days. as instructed I usually wait till it's very light and about 3 inches deep is completely dry. Hopefully my next strains prove to be much better. Thanks again.

Hmm, ok just got back to the house and went to transfer plants to dark room when I noticed brown things underneath the leaves, I have noticed them a little before but didn't give it much thought till today, there just seemed to be a lot more and a little green guy, not a pillar a small green fly looking thing. So my ? is what is it, what causes this?

Those look to be bug eggs....aphids...I hope I'm wrong.

Spider mites, I used the loupe to see better and apparently that's what I have. I have the two photos that go in and out of the grow room for light schedule and well, I have a problem. I am ordering some organic pesticide, Safer brand I guess, hope that takes care of it. Damn it's always something.

Roll with the punches, brother. :)

Day 70

Ok so I figured I'd put an update up. I'm starting to think I should grow more like 20 plants so when shit don't go like they should I'm not left with only 1 months worth of smoke and waiting or spending more $ while the next is growing. This sucks, I've been without good smoke for almost this entire grow and looking at the plants today doesn't seem like anything will be diff after this grow.
My CC was supposed to get chopped today, it's chicks b-day next Wed and even though it wouldn't be fully cured by then (I don't understand how much better it could be, I couldn't wait a month for cure like some of these people do) she wanted to have something to smoke. However the CC hasn't shown any signs of amber trichs really yet. She is super frosty but no amber, what should I do?? Is there a huge diff in the way it will smoke?? The WW is just there, she is so small that I doubt when she's done if there will be even a zip when last grow I got over 2 zips. I also tried to cut a few branches off and dry em the way I'm not supposed to to try to get some meds, didn't work too well, if anyone knows how I can cut a few nugs here and there and get em ready to smoke or anything within the day I would LOVE to hear about it. The NL is starting to show trichs now but has nothing but really small popcorn nugs even though she is 3ft tall and is showing either signs of lockout or coming to an end, non of the other plants are showing this, similar to last grow but not near as bad. So my idea is I will prob have 2 zips from the CC, 1 zip from the WW and give the NL to my buddy who thinks it might be good enough for him. Lastly the KKs, so neither have ever really looked alike, ones dark ones light, same height though, the dark one doesn't really have good development and also was infested with what looked like spider mites and prob a few other things, she goes outside, the other KK only appeared to get a couple mites, has better development although tall it has very small bud sites so I don't think there will be much outta her either. All in all I feel like I'm just gonna break even again for this grow. I'm thinking I might try to learn how to to DWC here soon, although I thought dwc looked to be so much more work and harder but might be a lot easier for me to control and see what the plants actually going through. Any opinions would be great... Well here are a couple pics, not very good ones though. and if you actually read this congratulate yourself. Thanks for checkin it out.

Hey man looking good! You can try to quick dry some bud but it never really works very well.. I know it's hard to be patient! If you snip off some lower buds, hang for a FEW DAYS, and then quick cure you should have some decent smoke in about a week.

Also, anytime that you take a plant outside and then back inside, you will have bug issues. I occasionally get mites and aphids from our normal houseplants that are outside and inside sometimes. I use neem oil. Mix according to instructions and spray on soil and runoff dishes. You can spray on plants during veg but I try not to. It's totally organic and doesn't bother my ladies at all. I got it at the local nursery. Keep up the good work, and be patient my friend..

I know there is an oven technique to quick dry "test buds" but I don't know what it is...I have to imagine VERY low heat but I don't know the numbers...

There might be a thread on it in harvesting and curing sub-forum.

The WW looks the closest to me.

Good Luck!
