Lighting 6 cbx 3590's in a 4x4x6 tent

Hey everybody, just wanna say thanks in advance for any helpful advice I may get. So I'm new to the hole grow thing & new to cob led's too. So me & my partner, @headkick420 are wanting to put 6 cbx 3590's in our tent but we have no idea what drivers & heatsinks to use. I've heard a lot about meanwell drivers but like I said I'm completely new to the diy led thing

50 watts is mor than enough I believe. We already have 4 t12's & a cheap full spec led that draws about 250 watts. We are 2 weeks into our firs grow & things seem to be going great, but we are looking to optimize the light to space that we have. I'm not trying to be a dick but I can tell you the t12's are costing more to run them their worth. The amount of light per watt is very very low.

Cobkits has a bunch of different sized drivers and heatsinks available. Check the 320h-36b driver he has.

He also has heatsinks available and usually labeled if they fit the particular cob.

The 3590's are 36v cobs so you would want to run them at 1400ma to reach 50w each. To figure the voltage you would need you would multiply the cob voltage by the number of cobs. 36x6 =216.

See this is becoming a bit of my dilemma these days as well. My DIY cxb3590 fixture running a Meanwell HLG-185h-C1400B cranked all the way up uses 104w at the wall per my Kill A Watt meter. I realize I could add 2 more COB's to this driver to bring it up to a full 200w fixture. But.....I feel I would still be leaving something on the table only driving them at 1400ma. The Cree spec sheet is based off running them at 2400ma. I just realized this over the weekend. I am torn between adding the 2 other COBs for 200w total with the 185h-1400 driver or to up size the driver to a HLG-240H-C2100B which would give me a 151w fixture with my current 2 3590's or 226w if I add a 3rd COB. Cost wise it's $80 for 2 COBs or $70 for the 240H-2100 driver.

I have finally broke out of my little grow cabinet and am set up now running a 28"x53"x78" tent with a 4'x4' tent sitting here to use as well. Right now I have my old MarsHydro 300w(174w at the wall), my DIY Cree cxb3590 fixture(104w) and a brand new Amare Solar Spec 150(163w) that was generously gifted to me from A-Train via Amare as the runner up to the 2016 Yearly POM Champion contest.

Im not sure the exact efficiency numbers but running a cob 100 watts vs 50 watts is not doubling the light output. Wattage is a unit of measurement not a measurement of light. The harder you run cobs the less light you get per watt. That's why 50 is very common.

Ideally this is the light we want to build. & ive got most of the part list, but I'm not sure what red & blue spec cobs he is using. & this would be a long term project that probably wouldn't be finished till Christmas time

We were planning on building something a little cheaper, so we could put it in our tent sooner, but I think we've decided to add something like a mars reflector to hold us over until we build the light above

You should look into citizen cobs. Price wise they are much more affordable and models like the 1818 best the Cree in performance
