I'm attempting to grow 5 plants in coco in 1 gal containers in a 2' X 2' area under a 150 W HPS and I'm having problems with yellowing leaves. Cana Gro has been the fert of choice but I'm beginning to wonder about the product.

I would like to engage in an ongoing conversation with an experienced grower that will share there thoughts regarding my problem.

Thanks

Post some pics, and I'll see if I can help you out. How old are your plants and what is your ph?

lets hear more details. should be easy to figure out with coco.
coco has a few problems that pop up often.

1. crappy coco or improper rinse before use is the number 1 reason for coco grows going to crap.

2. not watering coco often enough is next on the hit list. coco isnt soil and shouldnt be treated like it. coco should be watered atleast daily but preferably multiple times a day. no need to wait untill it looks dry.

3. although coco is a great medium some nute lines seem to do better than others with coco even though they may work like a champ in other mediums. for coco i usually recomend a 3 part base nutrient a few additives i personaly use an's 3 part base, mother earth tea grow and bloom, beneficial backteria in the form of an's pirana and turantula, gro teks carbo powder to feed the bene's and for flower booster i use grotek's monster bloom. this usually keeps me from needing any sort of cal/mg supplument and things go smoothly. it sounds like alot but most of the time your just using the base and tea once you have an established population of bene's growing in your resiviour or medium just gotta feed the bene's every now and again with carbs and about wk 5 of flower start the bud booster. i like to let ph swing also when using a res i ph the res at 5.5 and drift up to 6.2 before adjusting back down. this helps keep individual nutrients from getting locked out.

Damn Mr. Pride,

Thank you very much for the reply. It's going to take me a few readings before I can attempt to understand what you are describing.

Thanks Again

just need some more info such as

what brand of coco
was it loose or expanded
did you rinse before use if so how
what ph and ppm is your feed soloution before being poured through the pot
what is the ph ppm of the soloution that comes out the bottom of the pot when you water
how often do you water/feed
is the coco drying out between feedings
when were your meters last calibrated
is the yellowing on the older growth or newer growth
what sort of ventilation do you have?
what are your average day and night temps

anytime you need help with a plant problem all of these things help others figure out what your problem is. without this info all we can do is guess.
links to the exact coco and nutes used would be great

photos of the plants in natural light or with camera flash would go a long way in helping determine the problem.

I'm an old fart who is technically defunct. I don't know how to post pictures. I am pretty squared away on the preparation and use of coco. Where I've been messing up is with my confusion about how to feed an autoflower. I'm in the dark when it comes to using a grow formulation and a flowering formulation.
