yeah i use the sensi coco ph nutes and never check ph
no dude that's what I did at first when I finally twigged and checked my res the ph was 5.3 (nute lockout) once I ph'd it back to 5.8 it stayed that but I wasn't using liquid silica (great for stabilizing your ph) just calmag, bloom A+B and big budFirst two I checked the ph and adjusted especially the first two weeks considering when I was at 1/4 strength it wasn't being "ph perfect". Then one day I was reading someone else's thread I think it was @Wile e Peyote or @Waximus and they were saying they don't ph at all just 1/2 dose. Mix it and forget it.
So that's what I did for the last 3 with no Ill-effects
ps I could have just been my tap waterno dude that's what I did at first when I finally twigged and checked my res the ph was 5.3 (nute lockout) once I ph'd it back to 5.8 it stayed that but I wasn't using liquid silica (great for stabilizing your ph) just calmag, bloom A+B and big budps I could have just been my tap water
lots of great input my fellow gellies!
- and I hope I didn't just poo-the-water by reducing clarity in your water question!
.......As for Si, it'll add ppms, but since it's just Potassium silicate, it doesn't contribute to any buffering... however, Si is a fantastic element, with several key benefits! To not use it is foolish, IMO... If you've not read this yet, here's a great article on Si- ( http://www.cannabis.info/gb/abc/10005474-the-marvels-of-silicon&hloc=1 )
--not a buffering contributor per se, but can swing water/nute's soln. toward alkaline!
