Grow Room Adding bloom nutes early.

I am doing exactly this (starting bloom nutes early) but I have no choice but to attempt to get as much maturity out of the buds as possible
before a certain date when I leave town. If there is a stage between pre-flower and flower, I have to assume that pushing bloom nutes early,
if only 5 or 6 days, has to accelerate the switch in some demonstrable way. I get the nitrogen deficiency aspect of what is actually occurring but
isn't it exactly that change that would kickstart the next stage?

it wont kickstart anything other then N deficiency , id much rather run veg nutes longer then flowering nutes early

best of luck

peace

What about both? With the consistency of N from veg and the bigger PK?

let me go a bit further into what i said

id rather use veg nutes the entire grow , including flowering before id want to go with flowering nutes early

I use Bio-Grow all the way to the end as stated in Bio-Bizz schedule, it's not a lot, but it's there.

Dazed..

You could give it less and less hours of light each day to help it finish faster..it works better with some strains then others but its worth a shot if you're in a hurry to finish them.

Yeah, I'll do that. :)

There is a new theory (for photos & LEDs) postulating that if you only turn off the reds during the "night period", you can continue to promote bud growth with blues during said period while simultaneously "convincing" the plant that it is night and that with the adjustment of that interval, that the season is changing. They think it's the absence of red that tells the plant it's night.

I don't have a selectable LED so I can't monkey with "night growth" on autos but it would be cool to see if that would be a viable technique for speeding things up even further.

I'll probably continue some portion of veg nutes throughout and start bloom nutes at the end of 4 weeks

Cutting light times by 30 minutes or so every couple days for the last week and a half....

We'll see where that gets us.

Pretty well written (if not watered down) article for WIRED....covers a lot of recent bases - http://www.wired.com/2014/04/high-tech/

I haven't heard that but I know you can use 730nm red at the moment lights go out and it will make the plant instantly produce the dark period chemicals that normally take about 2 hours to fully kick in. So you could actually flower a photoperiod under only 10 hours of dark

Hey Evol,

In case you missed it, I edited prior post to include a link to that article (the article covers a number of topics pertaining to the evolving culture)
