Extraction Alcohol Saturation in QWET

I evaporate the eth off and end up with a dark thick oil like RSO. It is between axle grease and tar in consistency and a dose the size of a grain of rice (or maybe bit more) under the tongue or on the oil pad of my Penty vaporizer does me well. I am also playing around with adding a bit of coconut oil and lecithin which is supposed to enhance bio-availability. It makes it easier to measure dosages since it is diluted but cannot be vaped. Work well either with or without.

Depending on the temp I cook at and the quantity I can get the tar,pull and snap or shatter consistency but there is a point where the terps start cooking off and it gives it a different flavor,I've settled on a taffy type that will melt from body temp heat

Thanks @budelee ! The taffy consistency sounds great. One thing to mention about the coconut oil & lecithin I have noticed is that over time the emulsion separates. I suck the oil up into 1 ml dosing syringes and store them in a jar plunger down. There is oil on top and a light brown bottom half in some of them. Maybe I didn't get the the right ratios of coco&lecithin&extract? Don't know. When I get down to that portion I have to see if it retained any potency or not. The top half sure did, big time.
BTW I keep the alcohol 175-180 degrees in a water bath. Your digital IR thermometer will show you that the extract is significantly cooler than the water bath temp which surprised me. Water was 195 but inside the flask the solution was just right. Because of the difficulty of getting the thick RSO out of the flask I empty it while it is still thin enough to pour and put it in a non stick muffin tin (cut one cup out of the six) and put that into the water bath. I finish the purging by stirring with a chop stick and watching for the end of the solvent bubbling along the edges - always keeping the temp under 180 degrees.
It's fun to make something for daily meds that can be dabbed by a friend who ends up sitting in corner sucking his thumb for a little while! Heh heh heh.

Sucking thumb sounds about right when they aren't suspecting it ..hilarious !!! Yes on temps,I've tried a bunch over the last year and I have even done some with just a fan to evaporate all the alcohol and water,depending on ambient air temps and humidity I can get some yellow shatter,sometimes not so much,I've had some almost fails that had to be remelted and purged,if I'm in a hurry I take the temp up some but that has a tendency to make the finished product darker,latest try was to put in the oven at 220 for 10 minutes,what that done was change the flavor by( I'm guessing) burning off some of the terpines,it did change the consistency to more of a shatter but I prefer the long slow low heat final purge that lays it flat in the silicon mat..a person can never have enough information and I never stop trying new ways to eth extract,I occasionally do ISO extracts and once in a while small scale bho extracts ,I'm working now on the water extract called GOB,and my first attempt gave a potent product but not a dabbable product,I will try again tho,,Peace bro,I'll watch for updates !!
